Chapter 11 - Instakill Token

Kill Streak - 45

In just a matter of minutes, Xavier had slain more than thirty-five zombies, adding ten zombies from before took the total to forty-five.

Forty-five zombies killed in the blink of an eye...

Xavier himself was surprised by his own actions. Moreover, after physically exerting himself so much, he should have felt tired, should have felt completely exhausted. However, to his horror, he felt none of that. The more he killed, the more energetic his body became. He could feel strange energy wrapping around his body, making each and every one of his actions more effective, his punches more deadly, so that he could kill his enemy in a single blow.

He himself fully embraced this feeling, giving all of his strength to each of his attacks to kill the zombies in one swift blow so that his streak could continue.

Other than to kill zombies, he also wanted to see what he would get when he reached the cumulative hundred executions.

The first milestone had given him "Predator Sense."

Meanwhile, Jackie and the others watched this scene in complete horror, the scene of human organs flying around as they were chopped in horrifying proportions by the sword in Xavier's hand.

Millie's stomach churned; she threw up once again.

Just as everyone was standing there like sitting ducks, Jackie finally took a deep breath to calm herself and said in a loud voice, "Don't just stand there. Follow the path opened by him. We must make use of this opportunity to reach the exit."

Aron nodded at her words, gently patting Millie's back to help her relax.

Samuel's expression was pale watching Xavier's actions, his eyes flickering with suspicion.

"How can this lowly prisoner be so strong after the apocalypse? Surely he must have gotten stronger..."

"Hmm, the sword in his hand... it had to be this..."

Samuel's thoughts churned, nefarious thoughts filling his head. He could not understand why this good-for-nothing trash of society had gotten such a strong weapon. This sword should have been his. How dare this pest not willingly offer him this sword?

Although he wanted to rush and immediately snatch the sword from Xavier's hand, he stopped himself. This was not the time; he had to wait for an opportunity.

Meanwhile, the entire walkway leading to the exit was littered with zombie corpses. Black, tarry blood painted the entire thing, making it difficult to walk without getting your body tainted by the blood.

After a few minutes, that large exit door started to become visible.

As they approached the exit, the number of zombies trying to climb the walls increased dramatically.

The speed at which the kill streak rose also increased exponentially.

Kill Streak - 96

[You absorbed the soul record of Armored Zombie Level 11]

[You have leveled up]

[You have reached Level 9]

All the minor injuries that he received from pushing his body too far recovered instantly.

Still, he didn't feel happy after leveling up, his face turning slightly solemn.

"These zombies are mutating. Every time now I try to kill them with my sword, it feels as if I am trying to cut through steel."

Xavier noticed the faint scale-like structures appearing on the bodies of some of the zombies that he faced. Their bodies were being encased by some sort of naturally evolved armor.

Still, it wasn't that big of an issue. He could still kill them, but not in one hit.

Not in one hit... this was what was most important. To continue his streak, killing them in one hit was most important; otherwise, it would not count as an execution but simple killing.

To kill them, he had to make use of his only skill to perfectly time the attack to hit their weak spot.

A smile blossomed on his face as he realized his strategy seemed to be working.

Soon Xavier was able to reach the hundred-execution milestone.

Multiple blue system windows flooded his vision.

Xavier didn't have the time to enjoy the fruits of his labor; he was making the last push toward the exit.

The watchtower pathway leading to the exit slowly descended downwards into a large open area filled with all sorts of people. Civilians who had come to meet their loved ones, notorious criminals, and on-duty staff—all stood in front of the large gate, some panicking and others screaming.

"Why the hell are these gates not opened..."

"Where the hell is that good-for-nothing warden? Does he not know who I am? One phone call and he can say goodbye to his job!"

A middle-aged lady dressed in fancy clothes shouted the loudest.

A few prisoners heard her words and smiled mockingly, their eyes flashing with pity. They could almost imagine her getting ripped to shreds in the hands of some random zombie.

Just as the chaos was about to reach its peak, a young boy no older than eighteen emerged from the crowd, his face devoid of any emotion as if he couldn't see the tide of zombies slowly surrounding everyone present. Compared to the blood and mess around them, the young man's pure white clothes were completely spotless without any blemish. With every step that he took, sparks of electricity seemed to flash around his figure.

This supernatural display attracted the eyes of everyone present. Most of the surrounding people watched him in awe, while others backed away fearfully. Soon, murmurs broke out.

"Is he one of those lucky Awakened? What a lucky bastard. Why did he get the class when I didn't?"

"A class with lightning ability... must be at least a rare grade class..."

Humans' most powerful weapon was their capacity to communicate effectively. Even though the world was in an apocalyptic state, the superpower of humanity—their ability to transfer information—wasn't affected and could be said to have strengthened.

So even though only a few hours had passed since the apocalypse descended, information about classes and other things had easily spread.

With the arrival of infected records, the dormant mana present in the human body was forcefully awakened. Some lucky few with attuned bodies managed to awaken a class to utilize the mana effectively, while for others it backfired, leading them to become zombies.

However, not everyone present here was a saint. The eyes of shady-looking individuals, especially a middle-aged man with a long scar running vertically through his mouth, snorted coldly. "I heard from the pink-head, if you kill these classed individuals there is a possibility they might drop a class module... hmm, for the betterment of humanity this theory needs to be tested."

Just at that time, a loud explosion resounded.

Bang!

A rotten human skull came flying from the distance and hit the closed exit door like a sledgehammer before instantly shattering into numerous fine particles.

Tap!

Kill Streak - 110

Xavier slowly descended down the stairs after killing the last remaining zombie, his cold, blood-soaked figure scanning everyone present.

"Hmmm?"
