Miles Sherman and Nathan Lockwood stepped aside to talk.
Erin Xavier, however, stood to the side, watching Zoe Pierce with a deep frown.
Only Chase Shaw noticed the large tree that had been attacked with spiritual power. The gashes were fresh. He also saw the rubble on the ground from an explosion, with just a few scattered, fingernail-sized fragments blasted across the area.
He reached out and touched the gashes, then squatted down and picked up a pinch of the rubble.
The residual spiritual power was minuscule. Even with careful inspection, it was impossible to tell who had left the marks.
Chase Shaw pulled his hand back, but his gaze fell on Zoe Pierce.
Nathan Lockwood's spiritual power could certainly do this, but Chase Shaw didn't think it was him.
He walked back from the tree and heard Zoe Pierce ask, "You're back so soon? Have you already eliminated a few teams?"
Erin Xavier's brow was still furrowed. "Of course."
