The couple chatted for a while about Secretary Qin, Sister Zhang, and a few others. Yuan Si, as the head of the household, laid out some future expectations for Xiao Furen, stressing the importance of his personal conduct. Seeing that her husband humbly accepted her lecture, she reluctantly let him off the hook.
Xiao Furen hugged his wife and closed his eyes to sleep, but he sighed internally. 'My wife has certainly developed a powerful aura from being a soldier. The way she glares and snarls at me is exactly like a tigress descending from the mountains. This is not a good sign.' He could only hope time would fly by and the three years would pass quickly, so he could rescue her before she turned into a complete termagant.
Sigh. It's hard to be a man, and even harder to be a model, upstanding husband!
The couple slept well through the night. The next morning, Xiao Furen brought his mother and the children over for breakfast before riding his bicycle to work.
