Gathered around the fire, everyone ate and drank with immense satisfaction, their faces beaming with happiness.
"Oh, right, Captain," Xiao Ma asked curiously, pointing at what was now just a skeleton. "You guys have been here a while. Do you know what kind of animal this was?"
"..." The captain only glanced at it before lowering his head and continuing to eat intently.
Another veteran, however, teased him. "You're a little late. It's picked clean. Do you think our captain's an Immortal, able to tell what kind of animal it was just from the bones?"
Xiao Ma looked at the bare-boned skeleton and belatedly realized what a stupid question he'd asked. He chuckled sheepishly. "Right."
"Who cares what it was?" said the easy-going Xiao An. "As long as it's edible and delicious, that's all that matters."
