Yuan Si ran through the snow, her steps light. From a distance, she looked like some kind of animal bounding across the snowy landscape.
She followed the sound and, with her spiritual power, saw a battle unfolding between a tiger and a group of humans.
Yuan Si didn't recognize the men the tiger had cornered. Since they were out here and were strangers to her, their identity was obvious.
As she drew near, she slowed her pace. Finally, with a few nimble movements, she scaled a large tree to watch the battle between man and beast from a distance.
"Second Brother, what do we do?" a young man asked, clutching his arm. A chunk of flesh was missing from his upper arm, and blood was gushing out.
The man they called Second Brother was also covered in blood. A closer look revealed what must have been a swipe from the tiger's claws across his back. His padded cotton jacket was torn, exposing several bloody gashes.
