When it was time to get off work at noon, Yuan Si told Zhao Yangwu she had something to do and wouldn't be going home just yet. The implication was for him to find his own place to eat. She couldn't very well have him over if she wasn't going home herself.
"Where are you headed? Not going home at noon?" That was exactly what Zhao Yangwu had in mind. They were all so familiar with each other, and he and Xiao Furen were good buddies, so there was no need to be so formal. Besides, if she had an errand to run, she could just tell him. He'd help her out if he could.
"My mother misses her grandson, so she asked me to go pick him up." As she spoke, Yuan Si was already getting on her bicycle.
"Hey, wait up!" Zhao Yangwu quickly hopped on his bike and chased after her.
"I'm going to pick someone up. What are you following me for?" Yuan Si glanced sideways at the tag-along riding next to her.
