After a desperate escape, Yu Fei finally made it out of the Eternal Night Forest.
He thought he was safe, but the great tiger pursued him relentlessly. He fled with what little strength he had left. Perhaps the beast had reservations about the world outside the forest, for it eventually gave up the chase.
Yu Fei barely made it back to his safe house. His right leg was riddled with several thumb-sized holes, and his femur had been snapped in two. If he hadn't been quick enough to dodge, he surely would've left a limb behind.
His recovery took even longer this time; it was a full four days before he was completely healed.
Feeling how the sword shadow within him had integrated and devoured so much under the threat of death, Yu Fei's reckless heart began to stir once more.
