On the second floor of the New West headquarters in Hub City.
Seventeen documents were piled on Colin's desk, each marked "URGENT."
While coordinating delivery schedules with the academy branches across other Planes, he was approving after-sales work orders for Lilith's Cabin on his terminal, a vial of cultivation potion he hadn't had time to drink clamped between his teeth.
Vera pushed the door open from the adjacent office and walked in, clutching a stack of resumes. She did not look pleased.
"Two more quit."
Colin's hands paused. "From where?"
"Right here at headquarters. One from warehouse scheduling, the other from client relations. Same reason for both—too much work, mentally exhausted."
Vera slapped the resumes onto the desk. "The remaining staff are already working around the clock. If this continues, it won't be a matter of resignations; it'll be a full-blown rebellion."
Colin took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes.
