The noise in the spectator stands vanished.
Nearly five hundred apprentices, both junior and Advanced Apprentices, fell silent at this moment. Their eyes carefully scoured the blown-up top of the tower. The smoke and dust had yet to disperse, and the residual heat from the explosion caused the air to distort slightly. As far as they were concerned, no Mechanical Body could survive such saturated firepower. Yet Screen 27, which had not turned gray, declared a fact contrary to reality.
"What happened? An error?" an apprentice muttered, looking bewildered.
"Was the tracking Witchcraft interfered with? Was the Mechanical Body actually destroyed, but the signal is delayed?" another retorted, though his tone was full of uncertainty.
"Impossible. The Black Tower's competition has never had this kind of glitch!"
