"Boss, a copy of *Youth Digest*, please!"
At the entrance of National Guest Bookstore, Chen Yansen, carrying a bag of oranges, called out to Lao Chen, who was engrossed in a book.
Lao Chen instinctively looked up. When he saw who his customer was, his tone soured. "When did you get back? If I'd known, I would have waited for you. We could have gone to see your mom together."
"I already went," Chen Yansen replied, then handed the oranges to Lao Chen. "I bought these just for you."
Lao Chen had a fondness for seemingly uninteresting and cheap fruits like oranges, bananas, and apples.
"Why didn't you wait for me?" Lao Chen asked casually as he took the oranges.
"I didn't want to see you all weepy," Chen Yansen said bluntly.
"..." Lao Chen's hand froze. It took all his self-control to resist the urge to smash an orange on President Chen's forehead.
"Close up shop. Let's get some dinner together," Chen Yansen suggested.
