Hearing that answer, Zoe Sawyer and Heath Hale stiffened.
'Could it be... something happened after all?'
Aunt Crowe paused as well, then shot to her feet and hurried upstairs.
'She had to quickly confirm Aaron Crowe's condition. If he was really dead, then her plan would have to change.'
With the exception of Mrs. Crowe, the rest of the Crowes scrambled to follow, all wanting to check on Aaron Crowe.
"Wendy, don't go up. If something really has happened, seeing a scene like that will frighten you.
Just stay down here with your friends and wait." Before heading upstairs, Clark Crowe stopped Wendy Dawson, who had wanted to follow.
'He wasn't sure if Aaron Crowe was dead or just not awake yet, but just in case, it was better for Wendy not to see.'
