Many said the Netherworld Qi came from the Nine Netherworld Prison, a substance that even Divine Demons feared.
According to legend, if the Netherworld Qi entered one's body, the mildest outcome was having one's meridians incinerated, resulting in immediate death. The worst outcome was having one's mind eroded by its demonic nature, turning them into something not quite human and not quite ghost—a fate worse than death!
Not many on the Righteous Dao knew of the Netherworld Qi.
However, the Demonic Cultivators knew a great deal about it.
