By the time they left Zane Shelby's company, it was already late, and night was just beginning to fall.
Faye Vaughn and Zane Shelby returned "home" together.
Back at the house, Liam Linden had already returned from his classes and, as usual, had dinner ready.
Faye was very complimentary, eating with gusto as she praised him, "Classmate Linden, your cooking could rival a Michelin-starred chef's."
A faint smile touched Liam Linden's lips.
She never held back her compliments.
Being with her filled a person with a sense of bright, warm joy.
'If only this annoying third wheel wasn't here, it would be even better.'
"It really is delicious." Zane Shelby, completely ignoring the glance Liam Linden shot his way, said casually, "Linden, if you ever want to open a restaurant, I'll invest in you."
Liam Linden didn't acknowledge him.
