Chapter 13 - 13. Do you have a boyfriend?

"The strongest rookie?"

Actually, the moment Leon took off his earmuffs, he noticed someone standing behind him.

A woman with a faint scent of perfume.

However, he didn't pay attention, simply treating her as an ordinary bystander.

Yet, when Leon turned around, intending to be modest, he never expected the person to be Maria Hill, the current Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Nick Fury's second-in-command!

Her form-fitting combat uniform perfectly showcased her graceful figure. Her light blue eyes, accentuated by the coolness on her small face, were like an endless sky, captivating people while simultaneously evoking an unapproachable sense of sacredness.

Taking off his goggles, Leon met Maria Hill's gaze with his blue eyes, which had charmed countless young women, and chuckled, "You flatter me, Ms. Maria."

People often say that eyes are the windows to the soul.

You can tell what kind of person someone is from their eyes.

Kind or evil, or perhaps with ulterior motives… And what Maria Hill saw in the eyes of the man before her was an open and confident self-assurance!

Clearly, even though it was their first meeting, both had some understanding of the other.

Maria Hill wasn't bothered by Leon calling out her name so readily.

With her arms crossed, she said in a businesslike tone, "Nice to meet you, Agent Leon."

Leon completely ignored her aloofness, instead extending his right hand enthusiastically with an eight-toothed smile, "Hello, Agent Maria, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

Hearing Leon call her "Maria" instead of the more common "Hill," Maria Hill's brow furrowed slightly, and she immediately labeled Leon in her mind: "Playboy?"

Even though she felt a little put off, Hill still extended her small hand and shook Leon's.

"Oh, right! Agent Maria, why are you here? Are you also here to practice shooting?"

Leon completely disregarded the age gap and differences in security clearance between himself and Maria Hill, treating her simply as a fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague of equal rank.

Hill didn't answer Leon's question; instead, she spoke to herself, "I heard Coulson recruited a very capable rookie, and I happened to see you in the lobby, so I came to take a look."

"Oh, I see…" Although Leon said this aloud, he was muttering to himself:

"Hmph! Who are you trying to fool?!"

"Do you think I don't know that the one-eyed bald guy sent you to test me?!"

From the moment he stepped into the lobby, Leon had noticed a significant gaze from the second floor.

Although he hadn't paid much attention to it then, it now seemed that the monitoring gaze came from the cool and elegant woman before him.

As Fury's deputy, Maria Hill approaching him to talk was, to a large extent, naturally due to Fury's orders.

Thinking of this, Leon also smiled slightly.

It seemed that yesterday's mission, while making him stand out, had also caught the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s higher-ups.

Attention from his direct superior was naturally good news for Leon, who wanted to advance further in S.H.I.E.L.D.

However, seeing the calm on Maria Hill's face, Leon suddenly wanted to tease this sharp-witted beauty.

"By the way, Agent Maria, are you free right now?" Leon suddenly asked.

"Hmm…" Hill pondered for a moment, thinking of her mission, and replied, "It's lunchtime now."

Hearing Hill's answer, Leon's eyes darted around, and he suggested, "Oh,

That's great then! It's quite boring shooting targets alone. How about we have a shooting competition?"

"No!"

Seeing Leon's shooting skills, Maria Hill didn't even have to think before flatly rejecting his suggestion.

What the heck, she wasn't a masochist, why would she accept an invitation to a game she was sure to lose… Thinking this, Hill once again added a label to Leon in her mental notebook: "Loves to show off!"

"Oh, well, alright then…" Leon, whose teasing had failed, chuckled inwardly at Hill's somewhat helpless expression.

Second wave of attack, continue!

"Speaking of which, this is my first time at the Triskelion headquarters today, and I'm still not very familiar with the place. If you don't mind, could you show me around and help me get acquainted with the environment?"

Hill, of course, had no objections.

After all, gathering information about Leon also required some time together.

Getting familiar with the environment was a good opportunity to spend time together.

Returning his gun to the attendant, Leon followed alongside Hill, beginning his tour of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Triskelion Headquarters!

Operations Department, Command Center, Equipment Depot, Underground Hangar… After showing Leon around the main building, Hill had a general understanding of this new agent's personality and modus operandi.

When speaking, he liked to fix his clear blue eyes on the other person—very approachable!

Talkative, but well-organized and clear-minded;

Gentlemanly in behavior, sincere towards women, likes to show off in front of women, possibly a seasoned flirt… After circling around, the two returned to the main lobby.

At this point, Hill, who believed she had gathered enough information, intended to end the tour: "It's getting late, so…"

However, Leon, who was thoroughly enjoying the company of the beautiful woman, was unwilling to let her leave so soon.

"Oh dear, I'm so sorry! It's all because of me, you haven't had lunch, have you?"

"Uh? Lunch?"

Before Hill could react, Leon interrupted her, "To thank you, I'll treat you to lunch!"

With that, Leon walked off towards the cafeteria on his own.

Watching Leon's retreating figure, Hill uncharacteristically rolled her eyes and muttered softly, "Honestly, this guy never quits…"

Having said that, Hill also followed him with her long legs.

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s benefits were excellent, and the cafeteria was open 24 hours a day. Even after lunchtime, professional chefs were still serving them.

The two ordered some food they wanted, carried their trays, and found seats in a corner of the cafeteria.

As soon as they sat down, Leon spoke, "By the way, Maria, I have a question, but I don't know if I should ask…"

"Go ahead."

It must be said that society still values looks.

What's more, Leon was a standard handsome man, and so enthusiastic!

Even the somewhat cool Hill had been softened by Leon's attitude during their conversation, and her demeanor was much better than her initial coldness.

She didn't even show much aversion when Leon called her "Maria."

However, what she hadn't expected was that Leon would be so bold:

"Do you have a boyfriend
