Elara looked around at her companion and sighed.
She proposed a very sensible plan.
That squad of Titled were many things, and sensible wasn't exactly one of them.
Ethan glanced at the swirling portal, its surface rippling like a bottomless pool of darkness. Whatever lay beyond it had appeared after the destruction of an A Rank Gate Core. That alone was reason enough to be cautious.
Unfortunately, caution had never been his strongest quality.
He glanced at Mark and Kaela.
Neither looked particularly concerned. If anything, they seemed eager to see what was on the other side, even more than he was. Elara, meanwhile, had her fingers intertwined with his, a crimson thread of mana connecting their hands.
"Okay."
She sighed, giving in.
"If anything feels wrong, we leave straight away," she stated.
They all nodded.
"Of course."
Her eyes narrowed.
"Ethan."
"What is it?"
"Something seriously doesn't feel right."
He grinned, casually looking back at the portal.
