Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: lomi and lem

Lem entered Princess Lomi's room with an innocent smile, the tray of food in her hands.

"Lem? Why was it taking so long? You must have stayed talking to the other servants, I suppose," said a young woman with long ebony hair, her midnight blue eyes squinted with suspicion.

She was in front of her mirror, dressed in a long black dress that molded an incredible shape.

"Not at all! I just hit a pervert!" smiles lem, raising his fist with a cute smile, as if all this was routine with her.

Lomi sighed as her servant set the tray on a round wooden table. The wind blew lightly through the windows, carrying the scent of palm trees and small ponds.

"Thank you Lem, I was very hungry" said the princess as she bit into a pancake as Lem sat on the bed biting into a pear.

"I'm going to purify the water in one of the wells today. Its water is extremely dirty," Lomi said as Lem nodded happily.

"You're going to be able to use your magical powers, it's so beautiful, beautiful!" laughed the servant as the princess smiled, touched by her servant's sincere admiration.

After breakfast, lem took care of his mistress's toilet, combing her hair with a wooden comb covered with the essence of an aquatic flower.

They left the royal chamber, Princess Lomi proud in her long black dress and roughly hewn beech wood scepter and the servant Lem trotting behind her, her bare feet vibrating on the cold floor of the corridor.

...

Lomi wasn't just a princess, she was also an S-rank mage... In this world, the S rank came mainly from the amount of mana that the mage possessed within him.

To give an overview, the average magic of a small local wizard could at most fuel a hephrates crystal, the land of magic. An S-rank mage's mana could power thousands of crystals for several days.

Lomi was therefore in this category and his presence in sidonia was a blessing for the inhabitants.

"That well is still far away?" asked Lem impatiently, puffing out her cheeks.

"Calm down little top, you're as restless as a moth!" laughed Lomi as in front of her, the little houses of Sidonia stood up, white as chalk in the sun. Trees of all kinds surrounded them, but it was the palm trees that dominated. The inhabitants came and went, attended to their daily work, carefree and docile like a flock of sheep. This apparent sense of peace hid an indomitable truth: Gil de Fiore was there, his shadow hovering, burning and powerful.

...

The two young women found themselves in front of a small crowd at one of the oasis' many wells. When they arrived, the people stepped aside to let them pass, bowing respectfully.

"Princess Lomi, I salute you! Thank you for taking care of the well," says the well-digger with a grateful smile.

Lomi smiled softly as she waved at him, showing him that it was just a formality. The people around them were fascinated by her smile and the grace of her movements.

"The water in this well turned black, it was two hours ago... It smells very bad and it is slimy, we don't know what causes such intoxication," said the well-digger with a more serious expression as the two women stood in front of the wide opening of the well.

"An animal died in it?" asked Lem with a hand on her chin.

In response, the S-rank mage raised her roughly-hewn magic staff. A blue magic circle vibrating with runic words appeared at the end of the staff.

Lomi closed her eyes for a few seconds before opening them again with a surprisingly serious expression in the extreme.

"This pollution... It's a magical creature that causes this," the mage princess said with gravity.

"Huh?!" cried the well-digger and Lem at the same time as the people around them were caught between fear and amazement.

Lomi raised her magic staff as the well began to glow with a soft blue light.

"Wow!!" said Lem with a marvellous smile.

But.....

ROOAAARRR!!!

GRAAHHHH!!

A terrifying monster resembling a huge shark whose carcass was covered in mud and worms coming out of the water in a terrible leap, its body was abominable, like a creature out of a horrible zombie story.

The crowd howled in fear as Lomi watched the beast with Olympian calm.

"What's that monster?!" shouted Lem as he stepped back, his mouth puckering in disgust.

Still in the air, the atrocious creature vomits an extremely toxic and corrosive green substance. A protective bubble formed around the princess and the audience as the substance slipped through it like disgusting snot.

"I will not let you hurt my people, creature of death," Lomi said in a calm voice but one that had the power of a destructive wave of water.

On the tip of the beech stick, a magic ball of water was created. The air became heavier as the bubble grew and grew to an impressive size.

Magical technique of aqueous creation: purifying liquor!!

The purifying bubble of water was launched with a force that was both tranquil and titanic. The watery monster didn't stand a chance, pulverized in one fell swoop, creating an impressive gust of wind all over the street and the surrounding area.

"Wow!" smiled Lem .

"What power! So that's the power of an S-rank mage!" said the well-digger with eyes wide in disbelief.

The creature disappeared, lomi pointing her staff at the well, a magic circle pulsating at the end.

The well was covered in a soft blue light that evaporated in a horde of sparkling light.

"There you go, the well is purified," said the princess-mage with a sweet exhausted smile.

The crowd erupted in jubilation and the well-digger smiled and gave a thumbs-up as the lem walked over to her mistress.

"You were amazing princess! It was swoop! Then swoosh! Before the monster is sprayed into a swiip!! It was incredible!" smiles lem as he makes exaggerated movements with her arms.

Lomi laughed, her forehead covered in sweat.

"Are you okay princess?" asked Lem worriedly.

"Yes, don't worry. You know that I get exhausted faster than other mages when I use my magic. My body doesn't handle such a lot of mana very well," she said with a serene smile.

Lem looked at her with a mixture of concern and deep admiration.

"You are really amazing..." he said with a smile filled with almost childlike sincerity.

Lomi laughed tenderly as the well-digger approached her.

"Your Highness, what was this repulsive creature? Is it really a magical creature?"The white-haired man asked incredulously.

Lomi nodded her head as she became serious again and then the three of them stared at the well where some were already starting to draw water.

" It was an Oumo, a magical creature of the undead class. It attacks the waters by killing the life inside," Lomi explained as the well-digger nodded.

"We will also have to check the other wells to see if there is an invasion of Oumos," he says with extreme seriousness.

"I'll take care of it, don't worry," the princess smiled softly as Lem frantically nodded.

They were interrupted by the sound of iron soles and turned when they saw a brown man in silver armor, the epaulettes and the long cloak were a deep red. He fixed his hazel eyes on Princess Lomi, who blushed at the intensity of his gaze.

"Captain Lobster!" cried the well-digger in a military salute.

"Lob!" Lem smiled as the well-digger stared at her in amazement and annoyance.

Lobster, the captain of the royal guard, seemed to be focused solely on the beautiful princess as he approached them.

"Princess Lomi, I have learned what you have done, you must be extremely tired," he said, bowing with extreme concern in his voice.

"Don't worry Captain, I'm already well, I just need to rest for a few minutes" said the mage princess with a sweet smile.

Lobster stared at her with glowing eyes as he held her close to him like a bride.

"Then let me take you to your apartments to ensure your rest," the captain said with a sweet smile.

Lomi looked at him in amazement and cheeks burning as lobster made his way to her room, followed by lem who looked at them with a smirk and full of mischief.

It was as if she knew something that everyone didn't know...
