Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Battle Suits & Lickers

The next morning brought clear skies over New York. Peggy kissed Alex goodbye and headed to the military base. She moved with purpose, her super soldier strength hidden under a calm face. Alex watched her car pull away. Then he grabbed his keys and drove to the Stark estate.

The mansion sat on a big hill outside the city. Tall gates opened as he arrived. Jarvis, the butler—not the future AI—stood at the door. He was tall, proper, with a neat suit.

"Mr. Alex, good morning," Jarvis said with a bow. "Mr. Stark is in a private session right now. I will tell him you are here. Please come in and sit."Jarvis led Alex into the grand hall. The room had high ceilings, fancy paintings, and soft chairs. Alex sat and waited. He could hear noises from upstairs. Muffled laughs and moans. Howard's "private session" with some woman. Alex rolled his eyes but stayed calm. He knew Howard's ways. After ten minutes, footsteps came down the stairs.

Howard Stark appeared in a silk bathrobe. His hair was messy, face red, and he smelled like cheap perfume and sweat. He grinned wide when he saw Alex.

"Alex! Good to see you, buddy! Come here, give me a hug!" Howard opened his arms.

Alex stepped back fast. His face showed disgust. "Don't touch me with that sweaty, sticky body. Go clean up first."

Howard laughed loud but dropped his arms. "Okay, okay, fair point. What brings you here today? Business or pleasure?"

Alex got straight to it. "Business. I need you to make something for me."

Howard's eyes lit up. He loved projects. "You got the right man for the job! What is it? Gun? Plane? Flying car?"

"Costumes. Battle suits. For Peggy and Steve."Howard stopped. His mouth hung open for a second. Battle suits? For super soldiers? Why? But he shook it off. Howard didn't like questions when money or fun was involved. "Okay, I'm in. Tell me more."

Alex pulled out his phone. He called Peggy. "After work, bring Steve here to Howard's estate. Direct." She said "Okay" quick and hung up.Howard clapped his hands. "Perfect. Coffee while we wait? Let's talk science."

The two men sat. They chatted for hours about normal stuff. New engines. Better batteries. Alex shared Umbrella tech tips. Howard bragged about his latest plane designs. Time flew. The sun dipped low.

Finally, the door opened again. Peggy walked in first, still in her tight uniform. Steve followed, looking tired in his old clothes. Howard jumped up. He went for a hug.

Alex stepped in front of Peggy. One look stopped Howard cold. Howard turned and hugged Steve instead. Steve patted his back, a bit awkward.

Peggy ignored it all. She walked right to Alex. She kissed him soft on the lips. Her hand touched his cheek. "Why bring Steve here?"

Alex smiled. "Battle armor. For both of you."

Steve frowned. Peggy tilted her head. "Armor?"

"To get you on the battlefield," Alex said.

"So we win this war fast."Their faces changed. Steve stood taller. Peggy's eyes sparkled. "Yes," she whispered. Steve nodded hard. "Let's do it."

Howard rubbed his hands. "To the lab!"

They followed him down a hidden stair. The lab was huge. Machines hummed. Lights glowed blue from arc reactors. Tools hung on walls. Papers covered tables.

"Measurements first," Howard said. He grabbed a tape measure.

Alex helped right away. He measured Peggy himself. Chest, waist, arms, legs. No way Howard touched her. Peggy stood still, smiling at Alex's care. Steve let Howard do his. Quick and done.

"Now designs," Howard said. He rolled out paper. Alex took the pen. He knew exactly what to draw. For Steve: Classic Captain America. Blue base, red stripes, white star on chest. Wings on sides. Strong and simple. For Peggy: Captain Carter style. Dark blue with Union Jack accents. Gold trim. Sleek for her shape. Both had high collars, boots, gloves. Ready for shields and fights.

Howard whistled. "Nice. Pro level." They worked fast. Sketches turned to plans. Then materials. Howard mixed metals in a machine. Alex added Umbrella chemicals. Sparks flew. Smoke rose. Tests ran.

Hours later, success. A new fabric. Thin as cloth but tough as steel. Heat-proof—no fire hurt it. Cut-proof—knives bounced off. Tear-proof—pulls didn't rip. Bulletproof—shots from a test gun pinged away. Light too. Perfect for super strength.

"Suits incoming," Howard said. Machines whirred. Fabric cut. Stitches flew by robots. Colors dyed exact. But full build took days. Too slow for now. Alex checked his watch. "Peggy, let's go. Steve, stay. Help Howard finish." Steve nodded. "On it."

Peggy took Alex's arm. They left the lab. Upstairs, Jarvis saw them out. Car started. Peggy leaned close. "Thank you. This means the world."Alex kissed her hand. "You deserve it. Both of you."

Back at Umbrella, Alex thought ahead. Tyrants ready below. Suits coming. Steve and Peggy armed. HYDRA time up soon.

A week passed in a blur at Umbrella Corporation. Alex balanced pleasure and work. Days blurred with Peggy—stolen moments of passion in his quarters, her super soldier body pressing close, laughter echoing after intense training sessions. Nights meant research: tweaking Tyrant programming, scouting HYDRA intel via back channels. Life felt good. Controlled.

Then Howard called. "Suits ready! Get over here."Alex, Peggy, and Steve piled into the car. Peggy buzzed with excitement. Steve sat quiet, hopeful. They arrived at the Stark estate by noon. Jarvis let them in smooth. Howard waited in the lab, grinning like a kid.

"Feast your eyes!" Howard pulled covers off two mannequins.

Steve's suit: Deep blue with red-white stripes. Star emblem bold on chest. Wings curved sharp. Gloves, boots reinforced. Majestic—personification of American justice.

Peggy's: Sleek navy, Union Jack accents on shoulders. Gold lines traced her form. High collar, fitted pants—elegant power. Captain Carter alive.Peggy ran fingers over fabric. "Perfect." Steve nodded, eyes wide.

Alex inspected close. Bulletproof weave gleamed subtle. "Howard, top work."

Howard bowed mock. "I aim to please. Try 'em on!"

They changed quick. Steve emerged tall, iconic. Shield-ready stance natural. Peggy spun—curves hugged right, movement free. Justice embodied. Alex nodded approval. "You both look unstoppable."Howard beamed. "Accepted. Now—"Problem hit. No shields. Captain America without his? Half the legend. Captain Carter too. Steve flexed empty hands.

"Weapons?" Alex asked Howard.

Howard lit up. "This way!"He led to a vault door. Palm scan. Inside: Massive collection. Guns, knives, prototypes. Racks full—pistols to bazookas. Steve wandered, eyes scanning. There—circular shield. Vibranium prototype, silver-blue. Perfect weight. Steve lifted it. "This?"

Howard nodded. "A prototype. Absorbs kinetic energy. Throws true. Ricochets perfect. Vibranium-metal mix. Unbreakable."

Steve tested bounce off wall. Thud-echo. Caught it flawless. "Suits me."

Peggy searched hard. Guns too bulky. Blades too small. Nothing fit her style—graceful, lethal. Face fell. Downcast.

Alex slid arm around her. "Hey. Don't worry. We'll find your weapon. Something perfect."

She leaned in, grateful. "Thanks, Alex."Steve stayed with Howard—shield tweaks. Alex and Peggy left. Back home, Alex planned. Peggy needs signature gear.

Months passed. It was now the start of November. Alex remembered this time. Steve would go to the HYDRA base to save Bucky and his units.

In the past months, Alex prepared. He finished his new project: The Lickers. Yes, the beasts from Resident Evil. But now they were more controlled and intelligent. He tweaked their genetic makeup. Now they were to ride with the Tyrants. Each Tyrant had one Licker.

Alex studied their relation with the Tyrants. He saw no problem. But he still made some failsafe. Then he froze them all. So he could take them out when needed.

Then he got a call from Peggy. "Alex, come to the military base. There was a problem."

Alex said, "Okay, I am coming now." He hung up.As he hung up, he smiled. Now was the time to create chaos. He knew today was the day. The world would know about Captain America, Captain Carter, and the horrors of Tyrants and Lickers.

Alex got his gear and drove to the military base. His car was fast. He parked and walked in.

Peggy, Steve, and Howard were there. They stood around a map.

Peggy saw Alex. "Alex, Steve's friend Bucky and his unit got captured by HYDRA. Steve wants to go save them. He does not want to be a poster boy anymore. He wants to be a real captain."

Steve said, "I have to go get them."

Alex nodded. "Okay, Steve should go. Peggy too. You need to show HYDRA and the bosses here that you are super soldiers. Not clowns."

They started to get ready. They checked bags and guns. Time went by.They met again. Now Steve wore his new suit from Howard and Alex. Blue with a star. Peggy had her suit too. Navy with flags.

Alex wore his black overcoat, tight gear, black sunglasses, black gloves. Howard wore normal clothes. Not as cool as Alex. They went to Howard's plane. They got in. The plane took off.

Unknown to Howard, Peggy, and Steve, a big jet flew right behind their plane. Alex had sent it by remote control. It carried the 10 Tyrants and their Licker partners. Alex would not miss the chance to show his power.

Inside Howard's jet, the air felt tense. This was Peggy and Steve's first real mission on the ground. They went against orders from the bosses. They broke many rules. To make things lighter, Howard started to talk and joke. He made fun of old army stories. Steve laughed. Peggy smiled. All four of them laughed. But then alarms blared. They neared HYDRA Base Camp C3. Heavy guns fired at the plane. Bullets hit the wings. Howard lost balance for a second. He fixed the plane fast. "Jump now!" he yelled.

Steve grabbed his shield and parachute. He was ready. Peggy took her guns and parachute. Alex stood up. He opened the door. Wind rushed in. He stood at the edge.

Steve and Howard looked confused. Howard shouted, "Alex, what are you doing? Let Peggy and Steve go!"

Alex said, "Who said only Peggy and Steve go? I am going too."

Steve said, "Alex, it is dangerous. I know you fight well, but this is for super soldiers."

Howard added, "Steve is right. You are not a super soldier."

Peggy smiled. She waited to see what Alex would do. Alex looked at Howard and Steve. "I know I am no super soldier." He slid his black glasses down. His red eyes with slits like a demom glowing. "But I am a devil of my own." He smiled. Then he jumped out. No parachute.

Steve and Howard still in shock stared at the place from where Alex jumped. Then suddenly a realization hit Howard and he yelled, "He has no parachute!" Ignoring Howard, Peggy jumped next. She did not look back. Steve shook his head. He followed too.The plane flew on. Three fell toward the snow below.

Alex fell through the cold night air. Wind rushed past his face as he gave the order on his hidden comms. "Tyrants and Lickers, jump now." Behind Howard's plane, the big jet opened its doors. The ten Tyrants in their Jason masks leaped out with their Licker partners clinging to their backs. They dropped fast, landing a bit away from where Alex, Peggy, and Steve would hit the snow.

Alex got close to the ground. He bent his knees and landed hard. Snow flew up around him in a classic hero pose. No parachute. No problem. Peggy came down next on her parachute. She unhooked it and ran over. Steve landed right after, pulling his chute off and walking up with his shield ready.

Steve looked at Alex. He could not believe it. "I don't know how you did that, Alex. But if we survive this, you are going to tell Howard and me what the hell you are."

Alex and Peggy both smiled at Steve's shocked face. Peggy said, "Come on, Steve. We have work to do." They all turned serious. They looked around. Trucks drove toward the HYDRA base in the distance. "Quick plan," Alex said. "We take the last truck. Sneak in quiet."

They ran to the last truck. Soldiers sat in the back. Alex punched the first one hard in the face. He went out cold. Peggy kicked another off the truck. Steve threw the last two out with one swing. The truck kept moving. They hid in the back and rode right into the base. No alarms yet. While they moved, Alex whispered into his comms. "Tyrants and Lickers, surround the base. Go in from the front. Take out guards." The monsters dropped silent around the factory. Tyrants smashed through fences. Lickers climbed walls and jumped on patrols.Inside the base, Alex, Peggy, and Steve split up a bit.

Steve found the captured soldiers first. They sat in cells, weak and beaten. "Come on, men. You're free. Grab guns and fight," Steve said. The soldiers got up slow but took weapons from dead guards. They started shooting HYDRA goons.

Peggy and Steve kept looking for Bucky. "He has to be here somewhere," Peggy said. Gunfire echoed outside. Blasts shook the walls. Alex checked his comms. His forces did their job. Tyrants punched through soldiers like paper. One swing, one kill. Lickers bit heads clean off. Blood sprayed snow red.The freed soldiers saw it all. One said, "What the hell are those things?" Another yelled, "Monsters!" They froze for a second, scared.

Alex ran out to them. "Listen up! Those monsters are helping us. They don't attack our side. Fight with them. Push HYDRA back!" The soldiers saw it was true. The beasts ignored them and tore into HYDRA only. "Okay, let's go!" one shouted. They charged with rifles. Bullets flew both ways. HYDRA lines broke.

Alex joined the fight. He punched a soldier's jaw. Kicked another's knee out. Fast moves from his powers. But he stayed back from Peggy and Steve. Can't change too much, he thought. Future knowledge is key. Let canon play some.

In the control room, cameras showed the mess. Johann Schmidt stared at the screens. Tyrants ripped tanks apart. Lickers dragged screaming men into shadows. "What are these... things?" Schmidt said. His face went pale. He never saw power like that. People riding monsters? No. Commanding them?

Zola ran in. "Schmidt! The base! We must go!"

Schmidt hit buttons. "Self-destruct activated. Five minutes." Alarms blared loud. Red lights flashed everywhere.

Zola terrified ran towards his office to grabbed his files. Papers and disks "My experiments! I need these!."

Schmidt watched one more second. A Tyrant crushed a cannon. Licker tongue sliced a jeep. "What are they?," he muttered. Then he turned and left.

Outside, chaos ruled. Steve in the base yelled, "Bucky! Where are you?" Peggy shot two guards. "Keep moving!"

Alex saw the alarms. He smiled under his shades. Plan working. Schmidt panics. Freed soldiers cheered as a Tyrant saved one from gunfire. "Those things are with us!" they shouted.

A Licker leaped past Alex. Tongue whipped. HYDRA head gone. Tyrant nearby punched three men at once. Mask number 5 glowed red. Perfect.

Peggy and Steve moved fast through the factory halls. Gunfire echoed behind them. They checked room after room. Dead HYDRA guards lay everywhere. Then they saw him. Bucky sat chained to a wall, beaten but alive.

"Bucky!" Steve yelled. He broke the chains with one pull. Bucky looked up, weak. "Steve? What's going on? Why are you here and how did you grow this big ?"

Peggy helped him stand. "We're getting you out. Can you walk?"

Bucky nodded slow. "Yeah."

They ran back the way they came. Alarms blared louder. Self-destruct countdown ticked in the background. As they turned a corner, a man stepped out. Johann Schmidt.

Steve stopped. Shield up. "Schmidt."

Schmidt smiled thin. "Captain America. And the woman soldier. You think you win? HYDRA is the future. You are just bugs." He touched his face. Skin peeled and threw it into the fire below. Red skull underneath. "Look at perfection. Power beyond your weak world."

Peggy aimed her Gun. "Give up. Your base falls."

Schmidt laughed cold. "You know nothing. This is only start." He pressed a button on his belt. Door opened behind him. He ran through it fast. Gone.

Steve wanted to chase. "He's getting away!"

Bucky grabbed his arm. "Steve, we need to go. Base blows soon."

Peggy nodded. "He's right. Out now."

They ran harder. Explosions started far away. Walls shook. They made it to the main door. Outside, cold air hit them. Snow everywhere. They saw the fight.

HYDRA soldiers fired wild. Freed soldiers shot back. Tyrants punched men into walls. Masks glowed in dark. Lickers jumped high, tongues ripping heads off. Blood on snow. Massacre.

Steve froze. "What the hell are those?"

Peggy stared. "Monsters. Where did they come from?"

Bucky coughed. "They're killing HYDRA. But... look at them."

The beasts ignored the freed soldiers. Focused only on enemy. One Tyrant grabbed two HYDRA guys. Crushed necks easy. Licker nearby bit a gunner in half.

Alex ran up from the fight. Snow on his coat. Shades still on. "Don't worry. The monsters are on our side."

Steve turned fast. Shield ready. "Alex? You knew about this?"

Peggy looked at Alex hard. Her eyes narrowed just a second. Suspicion flashed. Alex saw it. *She is suspicious about me,* he thought. But he stayed calm.

"Trust me," Alex said. "They helped win. Look—HYDRA is defeted."

Peggy touched his arm. "Okay. For now."

Steve lowered shield a bit. "This changes everything. What are they?"

Alex ignored the question and left saying that he have to help the soldiers then as he was alone He spoke into his wrist comm. "Tyrants and Lickers, retreat to the jet. Move out now."

Far off, the beasts heard. Tyrants turned from kills. Lickers hissed and leaped away. They ran fast into shadows. Jet engines started distant. Gone quick.

Freed soldiers cheered. They grabbed guns from dead HYDRA. Climbed into trucks. Engines roared. Group drove off. Factory behind them boomed big. Fire lit the sky. Base gone.

They traveled all night. Snow roads rough. Trucks bounced. Soldiers talked low. Bucky rested in one. Steve drove lead truck. Peggy sat with Alex in back.

"You okay?" Alex asked her.

Peggy leaned on him. "Yeah. Tired. Those things... yours?"

Alex shrugged. "Yea let me show it to you when we get home."

She didn't push. Night dark. Stars out. Cold bit hard.

Early morning came. Sun rose pink over hills. Military base ahead. Flags waved. Guards saw trucks. Ran out.

Colonel Phillips stood at gate. Cigar in mouth. He watched trucks stop. Soldiers got out. Dirty, hurt, but alive. Over 400 men.

Phillips walked up. Eyes wide. "Rogers? Carter? You... all of them?"

Steve jumped down. Shield on back. "Yes, sir. All saved."

Bucky limped out. Hugged Steve quick. "Thanks, pal."

Phillips looked around. "How? Factory was fortress."

Peggy said, "We fought hard, sir."

Phillips grunted. Didn't believe full story. But results spoke. "Good work. Rest up."

Soldiers cheered. Medics came. Blankets passed. Food handed out.

Alex pulled Peggy aside. "Time to go."

She nodded. "Yeah. Let's get home."

Steve walked over. "Alex. About those monsters—"

Alex cut him. "Later, Steve. Rest now."

Steve frowned but let it go. Bucky nearby. Looked at Alex funny too.

Alex and Peggy drove back to Umbrella Corporation. The sun was up now. They parked in the underground garage. No one saw them go in. Alex took Peggy's hand. "Come with me. I need to show you something."

They rode the private elevator down. Deep down. Doors opened to the secret research base. Cold air hit them. Lights turned on slow. Pods lined the walls. Ten big ones for Tyrants. Ten even larger for Lickers. All frozen. Still.

Peggy stopped. Her eyes went wide. "Alex... what is this place?"

Alex walked to a console. Screens lit up. Data scrolled. "This is my real work. Sit down."

Peggy sat on a stool. She looked nervous but trusted him. Alex stood in front. "I made them. The Tyrants and Lickers. All from my research."

Peggy stared at the pods. "You... made those monsters? How?"

Alex took a breath. He lied smooth. "It's my genetics. Alpha blood. I used it to create them. They listen to me. Only me."

Peggy's mouth opened. No words came. She looked shocked. "Your blood? Alex, that's... how? You're not a monster maker."

Alex nodded. "I know it's hard. But yes. My blood started it all. Grew them in tanks. Trained them."

He didn't tell the truth. No reborn story. No system. No templates. Just the lie. Safe lie.

Peggy stood up. Walked to a pod. Looked at Tyrant number 5. Mask cold. Heart beat slow inside. "They killed so many HYDRA. Saved us. But they're scary."

Alex came next to her. "I built in failsafes. If they go berserk, I can shut them down. Remote kill switch. No risk."

He showed her the console. Buttons marked "Purge." Red lights. "See? Total control."

Peggy touched the glass. Thought hard. "You risked everything. For us. For the war."

Alex put hand on her shoulder. "HYDRA had to lose. These made sure."

Peggy turned to him. Face soft now. "If you say you control them, I believe you, Alex. I trust you."

She stepped close. Kissed him on the lips. Soft at first. Then deeper.

Alex kissed back. Hands on her waist. They made out slow. Heat built. Lips moved hungry. Tongues touched. Bedroom forgotten. Just them in the cold lab.

Peggy pulled back a little. Breathed fast. "You're full of surprises."

Alex smiled. "More to come."

They kissed again. Long and close. Secret base hummed quiet around them.
