Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Zamasu

Beryl was unaware that the Chat Group had new members.

She wasn't in the mood to deal with the Chat Group's affairs right now.

She arrived in the Underworld with Instant Transmission.

Her sudden appearance startled the already on-edge Underworld personnel.

Fortunately, someone recognized the white-haired girl with waist-length hair and cold eyes.

"God...God of Destruction Beryl!"

A creature with a human body and a horse head stumbled and scrambled over.

"Horse Face, explain the situation, and where is Ox Head?"

Beryl didn't say much, cutting straight to the point.

"Yes, yes, yes..." The humanoid creature with a red horse face wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "Most of the matters have been dealt with; Heaven and the Underworld have generally stabilized."

Horse Face paused, then continued, "Brother Ox Head is in charge of Hell. He previously led most of the strong individuals from Heaven to guard the entrance to Hell."

"The last message received indicated that the situation was not very good. None of the strong individuals who went to investigate Hell came back alive."

"Okay, I understand."

After Horse Face finished speaking, Beryl transformed into a purple light and swiftly moved towards the entrance of Hell.

After Beryl left without causing trouble, Horse Face slumped onto a nearby stone chair.

"It's...it's finally over."

A subordinate next to him tugged at Horse Face's sleeve. "Brother, who was that person just now? You seemed very afraid of her."

Horse Face shivered, quickly shook off his subordinate's grip, and glared at him fiercely: "That is the strongest God in the entire universe. Show more respect when you see her in the future."

"The strongest God? Isn't that King Yama?" The subordinate asked, surprised.

"King Yama isn't even worthy to carry her shoes. King Yama himself said that many years ago." Horse Face seemed afraid his subordinate wouldn't understand, adding, "King Yama can't even muster a hint of resistance in front of God of Destruction Beryl."

"God of Destruction Beryl is the strongest God in the entire universe."

...

Near the entrance to Hell.

A burly man with a scarred face and a pair of ox horns stared intently at the entrance and exit of Hell's gate, fearing something might jump out.

Beside him were dozens of creatures of different races, each with a halo above their heads.

"How is the situation?"

The purple light landed next to Ox Head, and only when the voice came did Ox Head suddenly startle.

"My...My Lady."

After seeing the pretty, even somewhat petite, white-haired girl beside him, Ox Head quickly bowed.

"No need for formalities. Have you found anything unusual?"

"We sent several small teams to investigate, but none have returned so far," Ox Head said with a grave expression.

"You've worked hard. If they are still alive, I will bring them all back."

If one is killed in soul form, they truly cannot be saved, not even with the Dragon Balls.

Beryl transformed into a streak of light and, with a "whoosh," entered the bottomless black pit, which resembled a sinkhole.

"Lord Ox Head, who was that Lady just now...?" A kind-faced old man with a halo above his head asked worriedly.

"God of Destruction Beryl," Ox Head said. "She is the strongest and greatest God in the entire universe. If even she can't do anything, then Hell is probably finished. Not just Hell, but perhaps the entire Underworld will be doomed."

From the entrance of Hell, faint wails and roars of demon beasts could be heard. That sound, even for Ox Head, who had been in the Underworld for many years, evoked a hint of fear—a testament to the difference in their status.

"Supreme Kai." Ox Head had met the Supreme Kai. Regarding the Supreme Kai who had been denied by God of Destruction Beryl, Ox Head's impression of him could be summed up in two words: "cold and arrogant." He didn't seem like a Supreme Kai at all.

Most importantly, he had a natural arrogance towards all living beings, an arrogance that emanated from his very bones.

Ox Head sighed deeply: "King Yama..."

He vaguely felt that King Yama wanted to appease the Supreme Kai before calling God of Destruction Beryl over, but his intention seemed to have been discovered by the Supreme Kai, directly leading to his demise.

...

Hell.

The entire space was filled with a faint red mist.

The souls in Hell, originally imprisoned within, now had their cell doors open, but not a single one can be seen.

"Come out, I know you're here."

Clap Clap Clap

In the silent space, applause resounded.

"Long time no see, Beryl. No, the current God of Destruction Beryl."

The man slowly walked out from a dark corner.

He had a jade-green face, a tuft of gray hair resembling a rooster's comb on his head, and wore a purple and gray Supreme Kai attire.

"I don't find it pleasing to be addressed with respect by a piece of trash who could cruelly murder his own teacher." Looking at the man walking out of the shadows, Beryl's voice was cold, "Am I right? Zamasu, the teacher-killer."

"No, no, no, anyone can say that, but not you."

Zamasu wagged his finger, then a smile curved his lips.

"You should be thanking me, human."

"If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have become a God of Destruction. Even if you could, it wouldn't have been so quickly."

"I'm not as heartless as you."

"Heh heh, humans like to hide themselves, but as a god, I can see through everything." Zamasu spoke with great confidence, "You and I both disliked Lord Gowasu's methods, didn't we?"

"Even if Lord Gowasu didn't align with your wishes, that's no reason for you to kill him."

Beryl did not deny what Zamasu said.

As a Supreme Kai, to be honest, Gowasu's personality was somewhat weak. He just watched everything. What good does watching do?

Shouldn't a Supreme Kai guide to a certain extent?

After all, if you do nothing, and Zeno erases the universe, you won't be able to produce a strong individual.

Supreme Kai Shin of the Universe 7, though unqualified, was actually doing something practical.

So, regarding this matter, she did not agree with Supreme Kai Gowasu's approach.

Of course, she wasn't a Supreme Kai; at the time, she was merely a candidate God of Destruction and couldn't control Supreme Kai Gowasu's personal actions.

"Is there a problem? I am correcting Lord Gowasu's mistakes and bringing the universe's order back on track." Zamasu was somewhat displeased when he heard Beryl's denial.

Zamasu looked at Beryl for a while, then said leisurely, "A Supreme Kai should guide the universe to a certain extent, not be a complete bystander. Didn't you teach me that?"

"Everything I've done has been in accordance with your wishes." Zamasu's lips stretched into a smile.

"I have nothing to say to you." Beryl's expression was cold.

"What, can't you refute me?" Zamasu suddenly laughed, "Actually, you've always wanted to kill me, haven't you?"

"The first time we met, you had murderous intent towards me."

"But you've always been hesitant about something." Zamasu snapped his fingers, "Perhaps you foresaw this day, which is why you had murderous intent towards me the first time we met."

If one thinks that way, everything makes sense.

However, after their first meeting, such murderous intent never appeared again.

"God of Destruction Beryl, can you tell me why?"
