Ruoxi watched the Vampire leave with a calm expression, knowing that he certainly knew more than he let on. "I'll be taking this room," He spoke up first, walking up to the room closest to Dulce.
"You won't." Asael said flatly, warping into the room.
Ruoxi didn't try to stop him, a slight smile on his face. He started towards the next closest on the opposing hallway, only to be beaten to it by the Fiend.
"Fools," He murmured under his breath, warping to the Vampire's room.
Ruoxi patiently waited at the door, taking in the room quietly. He needed to build trust with the Vampire, and if there were no sinister secrets, it should be rather easy.
Dulce stepped back into the room wearing nothing but a bathrobe, his hair bound up behind his neck. He paused at the sight of the Incubus, not quite sure what to expect.
Ruoxi had been sitting on the carpeted ground at the foot of the door, he didn't move when the Vampire made an appearance.
"I can't stay in a room alone," He spoke seriously, none of the elegance he previously had. "Could I trouble you and share yours?"
It wasn't completely a lie, and Ruoxi had no ulterior motives. He just didn't want to lose his hard-won freedom.
Dulce stood at the other side of the room, his eyes wide in surprise. He looked around, the room and the bed were spacious, he also couldn't sleep, so he could easily defend against being eaten.
"I-I suppose you can," He said hesitantly. "You can go clean up in the bath," He suggested after getting over the shock, "I wonder if Lord Rochefort has something you could wear..." He mused to himself, walking into the room to get dressed.
Ruoxi rose to his feet and started for the bath, he hadn't thought he would achieve his goal so easily. He had thought he had been completely wrung out of emotions, but as he made his way to the bathroom, he felt the faintest hint of guilt.
The bath was large, but not large enough for him to fit in. Ruoxi didn't mind, he preferred sluicing down, deliberately using cold water.
Anything more would take him back to the hot spring pool that had been built solely for his sake.
The bathrobe provided was far too short and barely closed, so he settled for the red robes he had been wearing, starting for the bedroom.
It wouldn't have mattered if he had stopped to take some clothes with him into the summoning circle, the robes were the most decent thing he had to wear.
The front doors were opening when he stepped out, Dulce holding a pile of clothes. "I got you some clothes," He said, walking over to place them on the bed.
"It was such short notice, and they didn't have a more decent material," Dulce fretted as he walked towards him.
Ruoxi stood in front of the door of the bath; when the Vampire had said that, he hadn't thought much of it. There were only two kinds of people to the Cubi, those who were uninterested and those who were. The latter was were most fell.
Nice things were only done by those who were interested, but the Vampire kept fretting as he walked past him to the bath to give him some privacy.
He stepped forward to get a closer look at the clothes. They were roughly his size, the material it was made out of was a little rough, but it was decently made.
Ruoxi clumsily put on the clothes, unfamiliar with the style. The buttons were mismatched, and he didn't know how to do up the cravat, but for the first time in forever, he was completely covered.
He could even layer on clothes, buttoning up the overcoat as well. He looked out of place in the clothes, perhaps if he cut his striking black hair, he could even pass off as human nobility.
Dulce stepped out tentatively when he guessed Ruoxi would be done dressing, finding the Incubus standing in the middle of the room holding onto the dark blue cravat.
"Do you need help with that?" He offered kindly, still keeping his distance in case he needed to give the other privacy.
Ruoxi turned in the direction of the Vampire's voice, a strange look in his gold eyes. When he turned, it became obvious that he needed more help than just his cravat.
Dulce closed the distance, a small smile on his face as he quickly undid the Incubus coat buttons and redid it, leaving the dress shirt the way it was.
"I'm relieved that these clothes fit," He said more to himself, trying to reach for the Demon's neck and failing.
Ruoxi took the initiative to sit at the edge of the bed so the Vampire could tie the strip of clothes around his neck. It was surprisingly comfortable, and although Cubi ran warmer, he was satisfied with the clothes he wore.
When the cravat was done, he put distance between them, going to a silk sofa to quietly sit.
The Vampire moving around in the background caught his attention, and while watching him, he realized that Dulce had put dressing on hold to prepare him a change of clothes.
Dulce had worn a dress shirt and some tailored pants before going off to complete his task. This was what he often wore, so it wasn't too much of a hassle, but now, he could dress up properly.
The clothes went on quickly, his dress shirt was a luminescent silver, the dark red waistcoat he wore over it highlighted his slight waist, which was then covered up by an overcoat.
He brushed his hair out and left it down, it was a little damp and needed to dry properly. Not to mention, dinner was with Vampires and Demons, he didn't have to worry about standing out.
Shortly after he was done dressing, there was a polite knock on the door. And Lord Rochefort came to personally invite him to dinner, like he said he would.
