Doing research on her home city from the last three years and multiple reports on missing women and children that were found deceased days later. Families wanting answers while the authorities and police are left baffled on who is responsible with each case remaining ice cold. Every victim's corpse was all found in the same ways - decomposed when they were only dead for three days or less. She finds an article of Lloyd Price, who gave an interview of his missing sister that was never found and believes that Mark Nelson being responsible for the murders and disappearances. In total, over a hundred victims have been found all in the same state yet no concrete evidence tying Mark to any of them despite he is responsible. Not able to sleep, she checks in on her sister but finds her asleep. Going back downstairs, she finds her father at the dining room table as she sits down with him.
Amber Strong: Can't sleep either?
Darren Strong: I have not been able to sleep since your grandfather passed.
The two sit there a moment in silence.
Darren Strong: I remember a time when you were about seven years old, you would always sneak down here in the middle of the night to get something to eat and it never failed it would be that container of chocolate chip ice cream. I would always find it either half empty or completely empty and you would always put it back.
The two giggle over this memory.
Amber Strong: It would always drive mom crazy when she would find it empty.
Darren Strong: Not me, because I always bought extra and kept them stored in the freezer in the basement. I knew how much you loved it.
Amber nods in silence as she places her hand on her father's arm, seeing the sadness in his eyes, but the happiness also that his little girl is finally home.
Darren Strong: You know, when you went missing, I would search every inch of this neighborhood and this city for you. I must have checked every possible location at least ten times over. Your mother made so many calls; your sisters spread the word around and would help us as best as they could. But, Shaina, I swear she never slept. She would be up past dawn, working with the police to try and find you. They would go beyond the outskirts of the city, even going to Crystal to look there. No leads, no evidence, nothing. It was ice cold and then three days ago, you suddenly appear here like nothing happened to you.
Darren now turns to look his daughter in the eyes; a tear streams down his face. Tears have already fallen from Amber's eyes as her lips tremble, and she fights it to not break down in front of her father.
Darren Strong: Where did you go, babygirl?
Amber Strong: That night, I was attacked. I was coming home from Crystal because of work, and these four masked men ran me off the road. I lost control, flipped multiple times and totaled it. They didn't stop there, though. I dragged myself from the car and they began to beat on me. They did horrible things to me. They laughed, they taunted me, they continued to punch, kick, whatever, called me these terrible, awful names. I remember they tied my hands behind my back and continued to have their way with me.
Amber can see the anger, the rage and the sadness all in one in her father's eyes as tears have now begun to stream down his face while listening to her story.
Amber Strong: I must have blacked out because the next thing I remember I woke up in this cabin. A kind, older gentleman had taken me in and nursed me back to health. From there, he began to teach me and train me in all forms of martial arts. He put me through a series of tests that pushed me past my limit and somehow, I don't know if I had an Angel looking out for me or what, but I survived them all and became stronger. I could feel a presence with me, guiding me and strengthening not just my physical being, but my spirit and my soul. He taught me about the legend of the Thunderbird and what it represents.
Amber follows them as she summons small lightning with her hand, much to her father's shock and amazement. As quickly as she summoned it, she is able to disperse it. Darren looks at her and the two embrace each other.
Elsewhere, a wounded Lloyd discovers Switchblade being held captive at a nearby factory and is being tortured on information about Amber, but he refuses to give them anything as they slice into him and pummel him. Laughing, Switchblade spits in their faces while insulting them as the lights go out then an arrow is fired to the ground that turns out to be a flashbang arrow and stuns the grunts, allowing Lloyd to leap down and begin fighting them in hand to hand combat as he throws a knife that cuts the rope and frees Switchblade. Once he breaks free, he aids Lloyd and together they are able to overpower the men and escape despite being wounded. Climbing into one of the cars, they speed away as two vehicles pursue them. They roar down the streets of Oceancreek City, ignoring red lights and even crashing into several cars. Lloyd has Switchblade take the wheel as they swap seats and leans out the window to fire an arrow at one of the vehicles that lands on the hood then explodes, sending the car airborne and slams hard to the ground sliding several feet away from the impact zone as the second vehicle goes around it and continues following. Down to his final arrow, Lloyd takes aim and fires, but misses as the occupants open fire. Making a hard right, they are suddenly confronted by Amber but are able to miss her as the pursuing vehicle is unable to and is met with a force shield that sends them crashing hard and flipping multiple times. Approaching, Amber rips the doors open and drags the grunts out by throwing them to the ground. Taking their guns and snapping them in half like toothpicks, she spares their lives despite what they did to Switchblade and vows next time she will not show such mercy. Going to Lloyd and Switchblade, she jokingly tells them they look horrible and goes with them to treat their wounds.
At one of the local hotels, Amber sits outside as Lloyd joins her and hands her a beer.
Amber Strong: How is he?
Lloyd Price: Rattled mostly. He barely speaks anymore.
Amber Strong: He hardly ever spoke at all in the time we've known each other.
Lloyd Price: So, this is you now? This all-powerful, nearly indestructible god-like figure?
Amber Strong: I'm not god-like.
Lloyd Price: You ripped the doors off that vehicle like it was nothing. You threw four grown men like ragdolls.
Amber Strong: Let's just say my sensi taught me very well.
Lloyd Price: I know all about being trained in martial arts, I learned at a very young age, but what I saw tonight - that can't be taught at all.
Amber Strong: Like I said, I had a very good sensi.
Lloyd Price: What are you exactly? No bullshit.
Amber Strong: Honestly, I can't even begin to describe it. It's like my entire body has so much weight lifted and I become this - this
Lloyd Price: god-like figure?
Amber Strong: Yeah. Sure. Like nothing can touch me and I've developed this strength and power I never knew was even possible. Lightning shoots from my eyes, I levitate and even fly, I can run at a speed I never knew I could, my strength has been multiplied by thirty. It's crazy.
Lloyd Price: Is it true though you met The Outlaw himself?
Amber laughs as she takes a drink and approves of the question.
Lloyd Price: Is he really mysterious that everyone claims him to be?
Amber Strong: Actually, no. He's a very soft-spoken person. Behind that mask and under all that dark clothing, I don't know, I can just feel a very gentle and kindhearted person.
Lloyd Price: I've heard the stories, you know, how he became The Outlaw, but I don't know what is true.
Amber Strong: I guess when you meet him, you will have to ask him yourself.
Amber finishes her drink as she stands up and looks into the hotel room to see Switchblade is not there and is gone.
Amber Strong: Lloyd?
Lloyd stands up and joins her at the doorway to find the same scene. They find a note left behind from him as he tells them he does not want to be found and has returned to his home to undergo more training, but they will see him again in the near future.
Lloyd Price: And then there was two.
Amber Strong: I have to get home.
