Louis are panicking and packing his stuff up into a bag in order to escape and move out of his dingy place as he knows that anytime the monster may return to his place. He quickly leaves and move through the alleyways and shortcuts. He manage to reach the Adventurer's Guild, where they are scrambling.
"Quickly quickly! Send that information! The royal family shall be notified and have their Holy Knights deal with this!" A man in a formal wear commands one of the receptionist as they send several pigeons and runners as they are frantic first thing in the morning.
"Uhm... Hello? Excuse me." Louis calls for attention, yet the lady receptionist, back office clerks and that man are moving around. "Hey! Hello?! I want to speak with something!" As Louis calls their attention, one of the lady receptionist stop and ask what's his business.
"I do want to ask asylum. I need help as there is a monster trying to hang out with me." Louis answer as the lady receptionist just shake her head as she goes to do her duty. Since this busy scenario made Louis helpless, He decides to leave and use what left of his money to move to far away town that Soli might not reach him.
"Gotta go away from that freak." Louis utters to himself as he goes to the carriage center to pay the fare and go to a town far from Aluteria.
Soli goes to Louis' shack and he waits for the door to open. He eagerly waits there but he doesn't know that the kid have already left. Even if he can destroy and reconstruct things, he doesn't want to intrude to a place without permission as that's one of his Master's teachings.
The humanoid monster wait for several hours there not moving or changing his position.
During all this, Gran manage to reach Helios in just 5 minutes as he use his full speed and he notice that the black sludge are absorbing the male adventurers while it is chasing and assaulting the women. Gran then jumps in and use his fist covered in Barrier to smash the sludges to death. He then see that he needs to push himself to the absolute limits in order to end this matter.
"If I... If I need to relieve that day again and again. I'll have to."
Gran's eye dulls out as the light from it fade. The wind starts to cease as the Exorcist feels the Dimensional Flow within 50 meter radius. He then extend it to 100 meters, up until 200 meters. He then utter the words that he use to defeat the mix raced mage from the arena, but this time he's using all he got.
"Stillness of this World..."
As the whole world is fills with darkness as anything stops moving Gran starts running. He close his eyes to concentrate on the Flow as he use hand slice, punches and using his Barrier to rush through the crowd and he covers 9 kilometers worth of distance within Helios as he slaughter every Black Slimes he encounters.
His movement makes such friction that it creates a skid mark on the road and it left plasma and electric charge on the air yet it didn't move. Gran continues to slay every Black Slime left and right. He later encounter the women carrying black slime child. He doesn't hesitate as he gives a jab through their stomach. When the baby slime slides out, he quickly end its existence.
In just a minute Gran manage to slaughter the majority of the Black Slime scattered all around the city. The women then feels a slight pain as they ask themselves how their womb is now empty. The lady adventurers that are fleeing see that they are in the clear as the male adventurers and the civilians are now okay.
The Holy Knights are deploying throughout the city while Gran is heavily panting and wagging his hands from the Black Slimes he slaughtered. He hands out the cores of these slimes out as he falls into his knee. Sylvia see this and commands her subordinates to investigate if there is still slimes stragglers remaining.
"Are you okay Gran? You look like you use your whole energy to help the people out." Sylvia asks as Gran can't reply anything as his Stillness of the World wears off and he is reeling through the exhaustion in his head. "Can you heal or anything? Can you heal?" Gran ask as he points out his head. Sylvia put her left hand on his top as she cast a healing spell.
"I'm casting a mid tier healing as it looks like you need that. Are you feeling okay now?" Sylvia ask as Gran feel his mind clearing up a bit and he wipe the blood dripping from his nose. "It works wonders, thanks a lot." Gran replies as he and the Holy Knight notice that a gigantic pillar of Black Slime are rising through the southwestern section of the city.
"What's that?" Sylvia ask as Gran explains the matter. "A Black Slime that absorbing men to gain abilities and assaulting women to reproduce? Vile indeed! Evil and cruel!" Sylvia remarks after hearing this. Gran stands again as he tells her a plan to mitigate and eliminate this threat properly. "Since you can control the Holy Knights, I'd like you to do this."
Gran points out as a notable shadow looms over them. "Hey!! Gigi here allow us to ride its back! Isn't this cool?!" Gina shouts as the Valkyries arrive to the city while Gran and Sylvia are discussing the plan how to eliminate the Black Slime in one piece. "Good timing! I have a plan for you ladies!" Gran happily calls them as the singular large Black Slime is wrecking buildings and striking back at patrolman and adventurers.
Veronica starts a citywide mana search spell, which she manage to spot that there are remaining baby Black Slimes remaining at the northern and western part of Helios. Gran stretches out again and he realize something that he needs to adjust. "Ladies I just want to share that I am running low right now. Thanks for Sylvia's heal earlier on my brain I can exert some effort now, but to end such threat I leave it to your capable hands. All you have to do is to hit that core in between its eyes, but that's easier said than done."
As Gran explains that he takes the stance again of a runner preparing to dash off again. "The more immediate threat is what I will handle. You can fight the disgusting piece of monster at the southwestern district, can you all do that?"
"What? Why are you asking us that D ranker? Don't you remember that you are speaking about the premier party of Helios. Valkyries, let's go!" Gina answers as Gran smiles. Sylvia rally some of his knights as she instruct them to slay the Black Slimes that they can encounter on the way.
"You are soldiers of the Holy Kingdom! We will not let the adventurers have all the glory! No guts no glory!" Sylvia commands as his knights shout in response. Everyone moves out according to plan and Gran approach the said baby Black Slimes that Veronica have sussed out. He quickly give them a devastating jab or a smash. When Gran encounters a woman with a womb leaking out the monster out, Gran use the Stillness of the World for just a moment and tap the woman's belly and after the monster is release, he use a weak Repel to eliminate them.
"This is somehow tougher than I have thought. Is this why Master doesn't like rescue missions? Whatever."
Since Gran is running through the whole city, Gigi the dragon flies the Valkyries out to the Black Slime Pillar as it cast three to four spells while they are approaching. The dragon maneuvers to evade these offense spells. Gina voluntarily drops out as the rest have also join in. Sylvia arrives on foot but she prepares her mana charged holy spell infused on her sword.
"Clear out!" Sylvia ask of the Valkyries. Gina stops her from unleashing it since she knows that the Black Slime will just absorb it. "I do know how to deal with such but there is something special here." Sylvia says otherwise as she leaps out and raise her sword to send this powerful strike to the pillar of disgust and lust.
"Finishing Move!"
As she slice through the air the heavy and mana filled blade unleashes the power that Sylvia have charged within. It sears the air and it hit the Black Slime. It tries to absorb the holy spell, but it buckles and it realize something, this stream of magic is overwhelming them. In a moment that the Black Slime feels that it will be overwhelmed it five fold magic barrier to defend itself. Gina and the other see this and this give them the signal that eliminating the Black Slime with magic is possible.
"Woah you really brute force your way to that monster huh. Can't say that is so like you Sylvia." Gina compliments the Holy Knight pal as she approach the monster with her spear and she starts stabbing and swinging her spear to cut down thr monster physically. Mayuri joins her as she begins slicing and cutting the monster to size as she leaps and hop around as the black sludge being starts attacking with hardened spires.
"You still resist you sleazy piece of dirt!" Veronica shouts but she's hiding beside Rinko as she's blocking every strikes and spell that thr Black Slime are throwing at them. "Get that scum monster leader!!" Veronica follows up as she peek her head up and she's almost been hit by a stray spire strike from the slime pillar. "Don't peek too much Veronica!" Rinko ask while she's stubbornly blocks every strike with her oversized round shield.
This whole scenario continues until Sylvia shouts to the party that she's ready to fire her Finishinh Mover again. This time Gina steps back as Mayuri decides to also retreat. The golden glow of Holy Spell shines through the vicinity, as the whole Helios is almost drowning in its light.
The ebony slime pillar cast everything that it can to stop this second strike. The Holy Knights, particularly Vice Captain Lenny and thr knights under him, goes to the front to stand their ground and protect their captain. As Sylvia see this action, she state her appreciation as Rinko move to the front if the group as Veronica buff her comrade's defense through and through.
"Well then, I'll call my Finishing Move as well!" Gina banters out as she also fill her spear with mana and match the intensity of Sylvia's holy spell. Her fire spell illuminates the whole battlefield as Gran have already manage to clear out the baby black slimes as he know that this battle will come to an end.
"Whoo boy, this kind of fireworks in your alley Arturo? I do work with these beauties and I didn't know how intense they can be." Gran says as the old man and his spouse are witnessing the power of the two lady warrior's magic. "It is time for the new generation to shine then. I still want some of the smashed fruits to be paid." Arturo laments as he recalls what happen earlier.
Gran visited the old man to see if they are alright. By the time he arrive, the whole stall's cover is flipped upside down as an adventurer is protecting the old man while the old lady is with him since she deliver his lunch. Gran didn't hesitate as he quickly dispatch this black slime to non existence as he ask them if they are okay. Martha approach him and give him a light smack on the shoulder.
"What are you doing? I thought you are hunting this monster when you come back last night?" The old lady innkeeper ask as Gran turns bashful as he explain to the couple what happen. As they hear the whole story, the locals then see that the light from the southwestern side of the city glows out. This is where Gran is leaning in a post as he watch how the Holy Knight and the Valkyrie will end this fight.
"Finishing Move!"
Sylvia fires her holy spell first as the monster cast fivefold barriers again. This time Gina aims her spear and she will fill the attack with her own.
"Finishing Move."
Gina utters the word in a silent manner as she unleashes her spear from his right hand and it swiftly breaks the fivefold barriers. The holy spell beam hit the Black Slime's core directly as Mayuri and Veronica stands by to see if that attack destroy the core. The holy spell beam ends but Mayuri doesn't wait for the smoke to dissipate. She jumps in and as she suspects the core is still intact.
"Those two aren't the only one with Finishing Move." Mayuri thinks for herself as she dash through the air and she rush straight to the core and slice it with her daggers to bits. She then pierce through the monster as the core got destroyed and she lands in front of a patrolman outpost.
"Mission Complete." Mayuri declares but she didn't expect the next phenomenon. The black slime explode to squishy and disgusting pieces that it literally bathe everyone there on its body. Gran manage to shield the old couple with his Barrier Technique. Rinko manage to block the goo herself while Veronica is hiding behind her.
The ones that are filled by this black goo explosion the most is Gina and Sylvia. The Holy Knights are also drowning in this goo. The public bathhouse becomes jampack with people cleaning themselves with the black slime's body as the launderers becomes too busy to clean the clothes and the equipment of the people who slay the black slime.
A day later...
"Yo!!! Valkyries! Mission Accomplished! Time to turn in the mission to the guild master!" Gina happily declares as the others are cheering as they approach the Adventurer's Guild HQ. Gran is already there, asking for a great food and a candy that they can offer him. The lady receptionist shoo him out since they can only offer food that's what currently cooking up by the cook in the back.
"Stingy as always." Gran remarks as he turns back and see that the Valkyries greet him. "Hey hey! You say that you manage to destroy all of the baby black slimes and slimes in the city, I didn't know you are a speedster kind of fighter." Veronica ask as she hides her amazement about the Exorcist.
"Speedster? Eh? You're talking to that banging pal you got on the back. She didn't let that mere light show ends and she end the fight right? If anything, I am amazed that you guys manage to takedown such monster on your own." Gran answers as Gina ick something from the pocket of her short.
"Not quite. The Holy Knights do also get a chunk of recognition for this." Gina answers as she present the reward for this extermination quest. "However this puts us on the map, and that's one step into being a S rank party." Gina added as Gran swallows a candy.
"Mr. Gran, I'm not aware about this but... Why are you always eating candies?" Rinko ask of the Exorcist that her comrades eyes widen. "Rinko? Don't tell me." Veronica states while she's looking at her shocked and disbelief. "What? Is it a weird question?" Rinko ask while she's looking to her comrades.
"It's not that. We rarely hear you curious about anything else, much less about a man." Mayuri answers as Gina nods. "I'm curious Rinko, what kind of man do you prefer? What is your type?" Gina adds as she wants to tease the most easy to embarrass and shy member of the Valkyries.
Rinko can't answer her inquiry as she blushes and Gran hides his face behind Gina since he does want to know but he doesn't want to appear to be gossiping.
"Why are you teasing me all of a sudden? You are all meanie." Rinko's answer garner reaction from all of the Adventurers a fluffy feeling. Gran decides to look at the quest board as he doesn't want everyone to see his reaction. Gina then hug Rinko as well as Mayuri. "Sorry, sorry... Its just you're too cute." Gina answers as she hugs and cutely scratching her face with Rinko's.
"You know, you have this cute charm." Mayuri utters as she petting her head. Veronica just stands there while the guild leader just descend from upper floor as he is too busy dealing with many paperworks, quests and projects that he need to look after. "These bureaucratic stuff aren't things for me..." Nato remarks as he sighs and witness the scenario at the front of the reception.
"Okay so the Valkyries do manage to handle the situation." The guild master says as the Valkyries' attention shifts to him. Gina and other Adventurers face Nato as he points something to the receptionist. Gran just turns his head to the reception.
"Since this kind of sudden crisis hit vital infrastructure and many people are affected by this, the Royal Family states that the payment for this quest will be withheld until further notice." As Nato says that the whole establishment grumbles and it almost break into a riot, but Nato slams the desk three times, and the Adventurers stops and listen.
"But then I answer them screw that! Everyone present here and participated from the Black Slime attack will be receiving three gold coins!!" Nato declares as the rest cheers and happily roars. The Guild Master then gesture the Valkyries to come with him at the back while the receptionists get the money bag to distribute the three gold coins for the Adventurers. Gran frowns as he decide to exit the establishment and look for something else.
Gina notice that Gran doesn't join them. He ask the Guild Master to wait for a while as she will call one of the main contributors on their success. Nato nods as Gina goes out to look for the Exorcist. As she goes out of the room she looks at the lobby full of adventurers but she doesn't find him. She goes outside, yet she fails to see him.
She walks a little bit, gazing and scanning her surrounding to where he can be. She later spots him entering a door, and when she looks at the sign above, she blushes and becomes red from realization. "What the..."
Gran is happily looking at some literature. Gina sees him reading, giggle and be truly focusing on what he is reading. She then see that the books selling there are of an adult kind. Gina goes to the Exorcist to ask him about it. "E-ehem... Hey." Gran face the flustered Gina as he close the book.
"Wassup? What are you doing here?" Gran ask as he looks at more assortment of books and literatures on the shelf. "So... I didn't know you're into that kind of stuff huh. I should've known since you are still a man." Gina remarks as Gran face her and he get what she's saying. "I'll not state my case as these books I'm reading are the more hilarous stuff instead of what you are thinking of."
Gran then show the cover of the book he is reading. He is reading a comedy book. "Well, if I were to look for a more raunchy stuff, please forgive me since I didn't have any action since... I don't know, forever?" Gran adds as Gina blush so hard she face the other way as she doesn't want to show the Exorcist her embarrassment from the situation.
"I didn't know you are too shameless as well." Gina remarks as she take a single step and she inform Gran about the reward. "Please go to the Guild HQ, the Guild Master will give out our reward."
"Oh, thanks for the notification then." Gran then tap her shoulder as he walks ahead of the Valkyrie leader and exits the bookshop. She lowers her head as she feels like she's being betray by the man she is expecting to be decent. "I should've expect it. His reaction when we first met is like that." Gina thinks as she looks at Gran's back.
In contrast to what Gina thinks, Gran understand what she's thinking right now. He doesn't want to hide his intentions, yet he also doesn't want for her to misunderstand his intentions and his behavior. As the two reach the Guild HQ, Gran holds the line as he confront her about the apparent misunderstanding.
"I'm sorry if I said some insensitive words earlier." Gran bows as he continues. "It is not my intention for you to misconstrue my words earlier that I have such explicit intentions with anybody with Valkyries. If you think my actions aren't forgivable, after I get my reward I'll stop interacting with your party and stop the Mentorship Program."
Gina doesn't expect this words coming from Gran. She's having a hard time finding the right words to answer to the Exorcist as she doesn't want him to leave all of a sudden due to her finding him in that bookstore. "Uh-uhmm... I'm sorry if I overreact. You don't have to ask apology for anything." Gina replies as Gran raise his head. He close his eyes and he open the door.
"Please..." Gran ask her to enter first. Gina takes this as she's got a little pain on her chest.
