The year is 1990 right at the fall of the Soviet Union our character Leven is born of a whore from a whore house. His mother A typical low level street worker had nothing going for her besides letting her body be used to earn income. The tragedy of it all, she ended up pregnant by some low life and naively trusted his promises and carried Leven to term. Leven's birth was something that should not have happened in the first place considering the circumstances that led to it. His mother had a love hate relationship with Leven even though she hated the reason and circumstances he was born under she couldn't bring herself to truly hate the abomination as she thought of him probably due to her evolutionarily engrained maternal instincts.
As the years passed by his mother now older and wearier, catching a disease due to her environment and work would succumb to her final breath in 1995 when Leven was just 5. The final words she left Leven with were "At the end of such a tragic life I gave birth to another" Those words deeply affected the young Leven because even though he was a child He intuitively knew that his existence and life he was given was equivalent to that of a hideous rat. Hideous not being an exaggeration because he was truly unfortunate looking big nose, fat even as a child, rough looking hair, facially asymmetrical, terrible skin condition, bad eyesight and poor posture. Despite all this he himself couldn't make himself hate his own mother either because he could tell she truly did care for him despite working such a profession and the rough environment he grew up in she made sure all his needs were met evident by the rolls of fat on his chin and belly. Leven knew that with the passing of his mother he had truly become a person who had no tangible connection in the world an outcast of society in the truest sense a situation funnily enough not so unique to him considering where he would be living in the upcoming years of his life.
After the passing of his mother government officials and support group employees helped Leven settle into an orphanage named "Bright Star". This orphanage had many like the young Leven people born into unfortunate circumstances with no one to take care of their pitiful selves, a place full of misery and darkness. The young Leven even in a place as downtrodden as this had trouble making friends due to his appearance. The orphanage was comprised of mainly boys for their being 3 boys for every 2 girls. Leven during this period of his childhood with the passing of his mother and his own obvious physical flaws was very lonely and unimpressionable mostly keeping to himself, at such a young age he had become a living dead. Days passing by monotonously eating reading sleeping loneliness eating reading sleeping loneliness eating reading sleeping and loneliness out of this whole monotony the thing that ate away at Leven was the loneliness.
2 years passed by this way; in these two years he had noticed that the girls in the orphanage always kept being taken away and were given by the orphanage administrators to a group of people this made him finally understand why there were more boys in the orphanage than girls. He was also set to start his formal schooling at a local public school which would be a turning point in his dreary and lonely life because he would find a passion for the sciences and mathematics. This passion would lead him to make his first genuine connection on earth with another enthusiast of the subject a fellow peer named Troy. Troy was of average stature and came from an upper middle-class family he was unassuming if you saw him in a crowd full of other children he wouldn't stand out unlike Leven who stood out like sore thumb for reasons of no benefit to him. Troy and Leven would spend their first 5 years at this primary school learning and becoming best friends The reason Troy didn't mind being friends with Leven wasn't that he didn't find him pleasant to look at it was due to his deep enthusiastic passion for the subject and he had found someone his age who shared the same passion. In these 5 years Leven was invited over to Troy's house countless times, and he got to see what a normal family with a mother and a father looked like even though he seemed fine on the surface Leven deeply desired such a family and bond, but it was out of reach for him like a starving person looking at a 5 start meal Infront of them having to pretend they had no need for the meal. These feelings of inferiority jealousy would fuel Leven to dive even deeper into his studies barely keeping up with troy but no matter how hard Leven tried he would always be behind due to his environment and poor genetics.
After these grueling years where he had to keep a normal facade and having to study rigorously without rest and hoping and praying for something, some semblance of hope Leven was barely able to keep himself semi functional so he wouldn't breakdown and lose all hope and become what his destiny was from birth a person at the bottom to be trampled on and made a mockery of or an example of. He would get his prayers and hopes answered when the class would take a fieldtrip to a nearby mountain together where he would come face to face with his destiny or fate whatever you may call it that's where the tragedy of Leven truly unfolds a being cursed from birth by fate, the universe and even himself can he overturn the odds or will he be subject to this wretched fate?
