[Start of the chapter]
Odin could see what was happening on Earth.
Karl, however, had no idea that at this very moment, Odin's jaw was practically about to hit the floor.
As for what had happened in Asgard, Karl naturally didn't know.
But—
With his astonishing level of control over the Mirror Dimension, he noticed something off.
He could feel that something was watching him.
Ignoring Hela, who was darting in close to attack, Karl sharply raised his spiritual power.
His spiritual power fused tightly with the Mirror Dimension.
Very quickly—
Up in the sky, he found a raven hidden within deep-layer space.
If this weren't the Mirror Dimension, he really might not have been able to see it.
"Whose technique is this?"
"This presence… it's strong."
Karl sensed the powerful aura contained within that raven and, for the moment, allowed Hela to rush in and launch close-range attacks.
The owner of this power was slightly stronger than him.
Maybe they had already reached the level of the Sorcerer Supreme.
"Could it be Odin?"
Karl couldn't help but feel suspicious.
The movement of his hands didn't hesitate in the slightest.
With a casual gesture, he directly crushed that raven—one that seemed to have been created by Odin—into nothing.
He shook his head, then looked back at Hela.
The deathly power on her body had weakened by an entire tier compared to before.
It was obvious that the meteor-related ability was having a draining effect on her undead-style power absorption… or something along those lines.
Even so, the Sorcerer Supreme clearly wasn't just sitting around doing nothing.
Hela hadn't received much support.
Seeing Karl stare at her like that, Hela ground her teeth and snapped, "You have companions!"
"Companions?" Karl raised a brow. "Hela-san, that's not a very nice way to put it."
"People who follow you are called accomplices. People who stand with me are only ever righteous partners."
Karl didn't even blink as he calmly stirred up his fighting spirit.
"But it doesn't matter. Those are just details."
"The important thing is—are you ready to go back into the seal?"
Karl said it plainly.
He had no intention of killing Hela.
Leaving aside the fact that Hela hadn't actually caused him any real harm—
Odin's whole family alone was enough to kill any desire he had to take that step.
They could fight among themselves, sure.
But if an outsider dared to kill one of them…
That whole family might join hands to deal with you.
Just look at Thor and Loki.
How much trouble had Loki caused? Wasn't he still bouncing around alive and well?
Without Odin's protection, would that even be possible? He would've died who knew how many times over.
Hela was the same.
Who knew what her relationship with Odin was really like?
If Karl went through all the trouble of killing Hela, and then Odin came knocking, what would he do?
No benefits—only a mountain of trouble.
He wasn't about to do something that stupid.
Best case was simple: send Hela back to where she came from, and everyone would be happy.
Clearly—
Hela didn't see it that way.
"Go back?"
"You think I'm going to do that? I'm going to rule the entire universe!"
"Even if I die, I won't go back!"
"You can't stop me!"
Hela glared at Karl, then turned and ran.
Her entire body became a bleak green streak of light, her pupils glowing.
Rage churned in her chest.
If this weren't Earth, how could she be reduced to this sorry state?
If this were Asgard, Karl would've died countless times already!
"Just wait until I return to Asgard and reclaim my power…"
"I'll come back. I'll bring an army of death and trample all of Earth flat!"
"And that damned brat will die too!!"
Hela cursed in her mind as she fled at full speed.
But—
After flying for a while, she suddenly realized something was wrong.
She hadn't actually gotten very far at all!
"Isn't it strange?" Karl's unhurried voice sounded again. "Why you couldn't get away."
Hela whirled around—and saw Karl was right there, not far from her.
In that instant, Hela understood.
"A spatial domain!!"
Hela bit out the words through clenched teeth.
"It's not that powerful. It's just a spell," Karl said modestly.
"When did you set it up?"
"From the start."
"Before fighting you, I already brought everything around here into my spell's range."
"I was just being a little cautious. I didn't expect I'd actually get to use it."
Karl spoke with perfect humility.
A little cautious?
For a fight that might happen, he covered a range of over a hundred kilometers with his spell.
What kind of monster did that?
And what kind of spell was this, to cover such an absurd area?
It was terrifying.
Even Odin—
His magic wasn't this exaggerated.
This was the scale of an enormous city.
Absolutely ridiculous.
This brat's magic really was monstrous.
Hela suppressed her shock and spoke again.
"Fine. I'll admit you had foresight."
"But if I want to leave, you can't stop me!"
As she spoke, bleak green light flashed around her.
She shot out like an arrow that ripped through the air—disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Karl only smiled.
"Naive."
"Trying to run inside the Mirror Dimension?"
"This isn't ordinary space."
He murmured to himself.
Snap!
He snapped his fingers.
Something eerie happened.
Hela—who had just fled—suddenly flew back again.
Seeing Karl appear out of nowhere, Hela froze.
She had clearly broken through the spatial confinement and escaped.
So why was she back?
What kind of method was this?
"You used space to confuse my perception," Hela said hatefully, staring at Karl.
"It's just a tiny, insignificant trick," Karl replied modestly. "Compared to your methods, Hela-san, I'm still lacking."
"Stop pretending. You're as smug and rampant as they come."
"When I return from Asgard, that'll be the day you die!"
Hela spoke coldly.
"And you still think you can leave?" Karl asked.
"You really are optimistic."
He reached forward and grabbed.
The ground suddenly trembled.
Then—
A massive hand made of concrete burst out of the earth and lunged straight for Hela.
Hela's icy expression instantly warped.
Her heart jolted with fear.
Spatial confinement was one thing—now he could even control the land itself?
What was this technique?
Even Asgard's magic couldn't do this.
This brat really was a freak.
She had heard that in this universe, there existed gods far greater than them.
She hadn't believed it before.
But now…
Was it actually true?
Hela's mind shook as she avoided the concrete hand's grasp.
"I can't stay here."
"If I do, I really will be trapped."
"Even if I have to pay a price—I have to leave!"
Hela shot Karl a venomous look, her eyes filled with hatred.
The next moment—
Deathly power erupted from her body.
Black light flashed.
And Hela vanished!!
