While the vampires continued flying through the air, swooping low over the tables and sending students scrambling in every direction, the chaos inside the Great Hall suddenly grew even louder.
BANG!
The massive doors of the hall burst open.
A group of students stormed inside wearing long coats and carrying their wands like weapons.
At the front stood Adrian.
He raised his wand dramatically and shouted across the hall.
"We are Vampire Hunters!"
Adrian pointed his wand toward the flying vampires.
"We will exterminate these vampires!"
Cheers and boos erupted instantly.
A few dozen "Vampire Hunters" charged into the hall, clashing with the vampire students in an explosive and chaotic battle.
The music quickly changed to a high-intensity fighting background music.
Spells flashed. Dramatic fighting noises. Fake blood splattered across the floor as the staged battle unfolded.
Adrian rushed straight toward Lee, the Great Vampire Lord.
Their duel quickly became the focus of the entire hall.
Lee floated down from the air, cloak swirling dramatically as Adrian pointed his wand.
"Your reign ends tonight!" Adrian shouted.
"Never! The night belongs to us!" Lee shouted as he laughed.
The fight scene was completely fake, but it was so well choreographed that many students were still unsure what was real and what wasn't.
Around the hall, more chaos unfolded.
A vampire suddenly clutched his shoulder.
"Ouch! Who hit me? That wasn't part of the script!"
The Vampire Hunter dueling him, immediately shook his head.
"It wasn't me!"
They both slowly turned around.
Behind them stood a terrified student holding a stack of plates, shaking so badly the dishes clattered together.
His voice trembled.
"I…I…I… will avenge her!"
He pointed the plates forward like shields.
"I will kill every vampire I see!"
The two performers stared at him for a moment.
Then both burst out laughing.
"Dude," the student vampire said, "it's only a prank."
"This is just a show. She isn't even dead. Look."
The frightened student slowly turned his head to where the vampire had pointed.
Across the hall, the girl he thought had been "killed" was laughing loudly while pretending to fight another vampire hunter.
The boy blinked.
"Oh…"
The two student performers immediately wrapped their arms around his shoulders.
"Come on," the hunter said. "Let's go say hello."
The vampire grinned.
"Didn't know you had a crush on her."
They began dragging him across the hall while he still held the plates.
"Come on buddy!"
All around the Great Hall, similar events were happening. Students jumped into the fight, some by accident, some on purpose.
Plates were shattered. Food and drinks flew everywhere.
It was chaotic but harmless.
Nothing that Poppy Pomfrey couldn't easily fix later.
Eventually, the fighting slowed.
Adrian stepped back.
Lee floated backward as well.
The Vampires gathered on one side of the hall.
The Vampire Hunters stood on the other.
The Great Hall floor looked like a battlefield.
Broken plates, food, and destroyed table decorations.
In the corner, Filch was crying openly at the sight of the mess.
Meanwhile, the professors at the High Table were sitting back and enjoying the show.
The music in the background changed again, becoming darker and more dramatic.
Adrian pointed his wand at Lee.
"You will be defeated tonight!" he shouted. "I will exterminate your blood clan!"
Lee tilted his head and laughed.
"Oh, really?"
He raised his wand slowly.
"Then allow me to show you the truth."
"Transform, my children!"
The Vampire Hunters suddenly froze.
One by one… their eyes began glowing red.
Gasps spread across the hall.
The Vampire Hunters had become Vampires.
Adrian stumbled back in shock.
"When?!"
Lee smirked.
"You have always been my child."
The hall erupted in shock and laughter.
But before the scene could continue—
The Great Hall doors burst open again.
Charging inside dramatically was Lockhart, holding a few bundle of garlic.
"I've got garlic!" he shouted heroically.
"Come everyone! Gather around me!"
"I will defeat these Vampires!"
The entire hall instantly went silent.
Only a few genuinely frightened students hurried toward him, grabbing the garlic and clutching it nervously.
Some even started eating it.
Lockhart looked around proudly.
"What are you all doing? Come take garlic!"
"Garlic will defeat the Vampires!"
Several Vampire students couldn't hold it in anymore.
They burst out laughing.
Lee and Adrian both looked uncertain for a moment.
Then they both turned toward the Ravenclaw table at Alexander.
Alexander let go of Cho's hand and calmly stood up.
He raised his wand and said.
"Periculum!"
Red sparks flew into the Great Hall.
The hundreds of Vampire students immediately recognized it.
Lee dramatically grabbed his throat.
"Garlic!"
"My one true weakness!"
He pointed toward the crowd.
"I will return, Hogwarts!"
"This is not the last you have seen of the Great Vampire Lord!"
Lee raised his arms.
"Come, my children!"
Hundreds of vampire students lifted their wands at once.
Thousands of illusionary bats burst into existence, filling the hall in a swirling black storm.
Within the chaos of wings and shadows, the Vampire students quickly scattered and flew out of the Great Hall.
Alexander waved his wand again, and everything returned to normal.
Only Peeves's laughter could still be heard. He was still laughing wildly while throwing fake blood balloons.
Only after he ran out of blood balloons did he realize the show had ended. He quickly ran out of the Great Hall.
SLAM!
The Great Hall doors shut again.
And the entire hall was left staring at the aftermath of the most chaotic Halloween performance Hogwarts had ever seen so far.
