Chapter 188 - Victory and Promises

After a sleepless night of spell practicing, Alexander went down to breakfast.

When he arrived in the Great Hall, he sat beside Cho Chang and immediately noticed something.

She looked nervous.

Alexander tilted his head slightly.

"Are you okay?"

Cho sighed and said, "Just the usual game nerves. That's all."

Alexander froze.

Seeing his reaction, Cho narrowed her eyes.

"Did you forget?"

Alexander blinked.

Cho continued.

"I told you all week. There's a match this afternoon."

Alexander unfroze instantly and smiled.

"How could I forget? Everything is ready for you."

Cho stared at him for a moment.

"I know you're lying," she said calmly. "But as long as you show up, I don't care."

Alexander scratched the back of his head.

"Sorry. I've been busy."

Cho nodded.

"I know. It's fine."

She finished eating quickly and stood up.

"I have to go."

Alexander watched her leave and felt guilty.

I really forgot…

He quickly stood up and left the Great Hall.

Soon after, he found Peeves flying around the castle.

Alexander immediately started making arrangements.

If he had forgotten about the game, then he would at least make the celebration unforgettable.

In the afternoon, the Quidditch pitch was packed with students.

The first match of the season was Ravenclaw Quidditch Team versus Gryffindor Quidditch Team.

The game started, and it ended quickly.

With the entire Ravenclaw team now flying on Nimbus 2001 brooms, their speed advantage was overwhelming.

They flew faster.

Turned sharper.

Accelerated quicker.

Gryffindor tried their best to keep up, but the difference was too large.

The Ravenclaw team was too fast and coordinated. The Gryffindor team thought they were ready, but they were wrong.

The match ended in less than twenty minutes.

Ravenclaw had completely crushed Gryffindor.

The moment the final whistle blew, Alexander immediately ran toward the field.

He raised his wand.

"Protego!"

A barrier formed around him and Cho, blocking the excited crowd.

Then he kissed her.

Right there in front of everyone.

Students instantly understood what was happening.

They all stepped back and pretended not to see anything.

A second later—

BOOM!

Fireworks exploded across the sky.

Colorful, magical fireworks filled the air above the Quidditch pitch.

Golden birds.

Blue comets.

Silver stars.

All exploding in celebration.

The fireworks lasted fifteen full minutes.

When Alexander finally let her go, Cho looked embarrassed.

"Can you stop kissing me in public?" she said. "Especially in front of my teammates and friends."

Alexander laughed.

"It was for the picture."

Cho laughed as well.

Alexander got rid of the shield and released her from his hug. She went to celebrate with her teammates.

During dinner that night, the first-year students were still talking excitedly.

They couldn't believe Alexander had prepared a fireworks show to celebrate Cho winning a match.

Older students, however, were much calmer.

They were already used to Alexander doing ridiculous things.

Many of them had expected something like this.

While everyone was eating, Fred Weasley and George Weasley walked over.

They looked very unhappy.

"This is cheating," Fred said.

"How can you just buy new brooms for the whole team?" George added.

"Yeah, Ravenclaw should be disqualified."

Alexander laughed.

Before he could say anything, Cho immediately started arguing with them.

After a long debate that went nowhere, Alexander finally interrupted.

"Meet me later after dinner."

The twins ignored the still-angry Cho.

"Will do," they said together before running off.

Alexander spent a few minutes calming Cho down.

Eventually, she sighed.

"I'm going to study."

Alexander gave her a quick kiss and said.

"Have fun studying. Just ignore the twins. They are just sore losers."

Cho gave him a small smile and left.

While Cho went to the library, Alexander went to meet the twins.

When they arrived at their usual secret meeting spot, Alexander got straight to the point.

"Vampire theme this year."

The twins' eyes lit up.

"Oh? That sounds interesting."

"What do you have planned?"

Alexander pulled out several letters and a parchment with plans for Halloween.

"I've already finished writing these. I need you two to talk to Peeves."

"I also got him some interesting gifts."

"Place them in the usual place. I'll enchant them when I have time."

"If everything goes according to plan, this Halloween will be very enjoyable."

The twins quickly read through the plan.

Their eyes widened.

Then they grinned like maniacs.

"This is brilliant."

They immediately ran off to start preparing.

Alexander watched them leave and then headed toward the Room of Requirement.

He began practicing spells before opening his Ancient Runes books.

By now, he could fully understand Babbling during class.

Thanks to Tom, he had already mastered several important foundations:

Runic Alphabet.

Rune Translations.

Rune Magic Theories.

The next steps were clear.

Rune Combinations.

Rune Carving.

Once he mastered those—

Alexander smiled slightly.

That's when the real fun begins.
