Chapter 87 - October Chaos Begins

October 1st arrived.

And with it, the chaos will begin.

The Great Hall buzzed with normal morning chatter.

Students ate.

Owls flew overhead.

Nothing unusual.

Until—

A shriek echoed from the ceiling.

"WAAAAAKE UP, HOGWARTS!"

Peeves dove from the rafters like a missile.

And the attack began instantly.

Ink bombs exploded across tables.

Stink bombs detonated in midair.

Screaming parchment scrolls unrolled themselves, releasing horrifying wails that echoed through the hall.

Thick gray smoke began filling the air.

Students panicked.

First years screamed.

Some ran.

Others ducked under tables.

At the Ravenclaw table—

Alexander didn't even flinch.

He calmly raised his wand.

"Protego."

A shimmering shield dome formed around him and Cho, sealing out the smoke, stink, and projectiles.

He resumed eating breakfast and enjoyed watching the chaos surrounding him.

Cho stared at him.

"…This is you, right?"

He chewed casually.

"No. It's Peeves. How could it be me? I'm a star student."

Another ink bomb exploded behind him.

He didn't even turn.

Cho could only laugh.

Within minutes, professors stormed the hall.

Spells fired.

Barriers went up.

They chased Peeves through the rafters until he fled cackling into the upper corridors.

But the damage was done.

Students were left:

Covered in ink

Reeking of stink bombs

Shaken by screaming scrolls

Older students laughed hysterically.

First years looked traumatized.

From the staff table, Snape locked eyes with Alexander.

A long, suspicious glare.

Alexander simply smiled back.

Then waved.

Snape's eye twitched before he turned away, barking orders at Slytherins to restore order.

Breakfast eventually resumed.

By lunch, rumors had spread across the castle.

When Alexander sat down—

A familiar bushy-haired first-year approached.

Hermione crossed her arms.

"I can't believe you caused all that mess this morning."

Alexander blinked innocently.

"Who? Me? Can't be. I'm a star student."

Cho snorted beside him.

He continued shamelessly:

"I was merely educating people not to lower their guard. Teaching them how to dodge."

He leaned back.

"And no one can prove it was me."

He and Cho both laughed.

Hermione stared at him, stunned by the audacity.

It took her a moment to reorganize her thoughts.

"…Do you know anything about a three-headed dog?"

Alexander stopped laughing.

His eyes sharpened for a split second.

But his expression stayed casual.

"I've asked Mr. Scamander about magical dogs before."

"He said three-headed dogs are rare. Just treat them like regular dogs, and it should be fine."

Hermione frowned slightly.

"…That's it?"

He shrugged.

"Pretty much."

She nodded slowly, though clearly expecting a more detailed answer.

Then she walked away.

Alexander watched her leave while sipping his drink.

So… they met Fluffy already.

He chuckled to himself.

The Philosopher's Stone plotline was progressing right on schedule.

He resumed eating lunch calmly.

October chaos had just begun.
