Chapter 75 - Letters, Laughter, and Lingering Fame

The morning after chaos always carried a different kind of energy at Hogwarts.

Students leaned in close at tables.

Laughter erupted randomly as enchanted photos passed hand to hand.

The phrase "Hero Who Defeated the Racist Hat" had already become legendary overnight again.

And, as expected…

Fred and George Weasley were capitalizing on it beautifully.

They operated quietly at the edges of the Great Hall — sliding enchanted photographs to eager buyers beneath the table.

Coins clinked softly into their pockets.

"Limited edition," Fred whispered to a Hufflepuff.

"Barrier expansion frame included," George added.

Business was thriving.

Alexander sat beside Cho as usual.

He poured himself pumpkin juice as if nothing had happened.

"Good morning," he said calmly. "Did you enjoy the show?"

Cho laughed — she couldn't help it.

"It was… memorable."

Then her expression softened with concern.

"Are you okay?"

He paused slightly.

"The Stupefy hit you pretty hard. Come on — let's visit Madam Pomfrey later."

Alexander already knew that tone.

She wasn't going to let it go.

He nodded.

"Yeah. We can go before lunch."

Her smile returned instantly.

"Good."

They continued breakfast together, relaxed.

The ceiling filled with flapping wings.

Owls swooped in from every direction, dropping letters and packages.

Students reached up excitedly.

"How did my mum find out already—"

"Oh no…"

Naturally…

Alexander received one too.

A sleek owl dropped a letter directly onto his plate before flying off.

Cho leaned closer immediately.

"You're opening that."

Alexander broke the seal.

They read together.

To our lovable but troublesome son,

We told you not to cause trouble.

The Sorting Hat is NOT racist. Behave.

Your father said he was impressed by your Protego Maxima — especially reinforcing it with Fianto Duri alongside the Weasley twins — but do not cause any more incidents.

Professor Dumbledore has informed us that you will not be expelled. I hope this will be the last time we hear of such events.

Stay safe. Eat healthy. Keep your grades up.

Love,

Mom and Dad

Alexander and Cho burst out laughing.

"'Lovable but troublesome,'" Cho repeated.

"Accurate," Alexander said.

Cho's owl landed next.

She hesitated… then opened it.

Alexander leaned over casually.

Her ears turned red instantly as they read.

Cho,

We heard about last night.

You seem to have chosen a very… impressive boyfriend.

Do keep him out of too much trouble if possible.

Love,

Mother & Father

Alexander laughed.

Cho covered her face.

"They are not helping…"

"Impressive boyfriend," he repeated smugly.

She nudged him.

Alexander pulled out parchment and began writing immediately.

Dear Understanding and Loving Parents,

I am not lying — the Racist Hat is racist! I will prove it someday.

Also, thanks for the advanced Protego spells. I told you I mastered them perfectly.

I will definitely keep my grades up — but if trouble finds me, it is not my fault.

Love,

Your star student and son,

Alex

He reached into his bag and added three enchanted photographs:

Him casting Protego Maxima with the trio adding Fianto Duri.

Him stomping the Hat Part 1.

Him stomping the Hat Part 2

He sealed the envelope.

Then—

With a casual flick of his wand—

He conjured a small flame and burned his parents' original letter.

First years nearby gasped.

One nearly dropped his goblet.

But the older Ravenclaw students?

Didn't react at all.

They were used to Alexander's habits by now.

Cho just shook her head, smiling faintly.

Alexander stood up and said.

"I'll deliver this and then head to class."

Cho nodded.

"Transfiguration?"

"Of course."

He adjusted his robes.

"I'll meet you there."

As he walked off, whispers followed him again.

Legend growing.

Photos spreading.

Reputation solidifying.

Cho watched him go, half amused, half exasperated.

Hogwarts had barely finished its first morning…

And Alexander Chen was already trending again.
