Chapter 64 - The Burrow’s Warm Welcome

The moment Alexander stepped inside the Burrow, he felt it.

Warmth.

Not just from the fireplace—

But from the house itself.

It was loud, lively, and filled with the kind of chaos that felt… welcoming.

Before he could observe more, the twins were already dragging him forward.

"Family meeting!"

"We've got a guest!"

Their voices echoed through the crooked stairways.

One by one, the Weasley family gathered.

First was Mrs. Molly Weasley.

Kind eyes.

Flour on her apron.

And a smile so warm it could melt ice.

"Oh my, you must be Alexander Chen!" she said, walking over quickly.

Before he could react—

She pulled him into a hug.

Alexander stiffened for half a second, then awkwardly patted her back.

"It's lovely to finally meet you, dear. The twins talk about you all the time."

"They do?" Alexander asked, glancing at them.

"Only good things!" Fred said.

"Mostly good things," George corrected.

Next came the others.

Bill and Charlie were away.

Percy greeted him formally.

A handshake.

Then—

Ron Weasley.

He stared.

Wide-eyed.

"You're… the number one student?"

Alexander blinked.

"…Yes?"

Ron looked even more shocked up close.

Behind him peeked a smaller red-haired girl—

Ginny Weasley.

She hid slightly behind the doorway, curious but shy.

Alexander gave a small, polite nod.

She nodded back quickly, face a little red.

They all gathered in the living room.

Mr. Weasley was already at work, so he wasn't present, but the rest of the family filled the space easily.

Mrs. Weasley wasted no time getting to the point.

"So! I heard you ranked first among all the first years."

Alexander nodded modestly.

"Yes, ma'am."

Her eyes sparkled instantly.

"That's wonderful! Perhaps you could help improve the twins' grades… and Ron's grades when he attends next year?"

Fred and George groaned loudly.

"Betrayal!"

"From our own mother!"

Alexander chuckled lightly.

"I'll try."

That was enough to make Mrs. Weasley beam with happiness.

They chatted about Hogwarts for a while.

Classes.

Professors.

Quidditch.

Pranks.

Then, of course—

The twins pulled out their treasure.

Motion pictures.

"Time for highlights of the year!" Fred announced.

"Featuring our star guest!" George added.

They began flipping through the animated photos.

Students confessing.

Fireworks exploding.

Peeves causing havoc everywhere.

Cho standing under the Valentine's fireworks.

Ginny watched in awe.

Ron leaned closer and closer.

Then—

The final motion picture appeared.

The Great Hall.

Chaos everywhere.

Fireworks.

Spells.

Students running.

And in the very center—

Alexander Chen stood calmly, shielded by Protego.

Smiling.

Untouched by the madness around him.

Ron's jaw dropped.

Ginny's eyes sparkled.

"You just… stood there?" Ron asked.

Alexander chuckled.

"Yes. It was a fun year."

Before more could be said—

The twins suddenly grabbed him.

"Planning time!"

"Next year's chaos strategy meeting!"

They dragged him upstairs into their room.

Blueprints.

Sketches.

Lists.

Alexander looked around, amused.

"It's too early to plan," he said, sitting down casually. "We should just enjoy summer first."

The twins paused.

Then nodded slowly.

"…Fair."

"Fun first. Chaos later."

Then they dragged everyone outside.

Ron.

Ginny.

Alexander.

Into the garden.

"Gnome time!" Fred announced.

Alexander raised a brow.

"…Gnomes?"

He learned very quickly.

Garden gnomes were pests.

And the Weasley method of removal was…

Throwing them.

Alexander watched one get spun and tossed over the hedge.

He observed some more and then joined in.

Soon, laughter filled the yard.

They played until lunch.

Ate together.

Then went back outside again.

For someone who once preferred quiet—

Alexander found he didn't mind this noise at all.

By late afternoon, he finally stood up to leave.

"I should head back. I'm having dinner with my parents."

Mrs. Weasley walked him to the door warmly.

"You're welcome here anytime, dear. I'll invite your family over for dinner one of these days."

Alexander nodded politely.

"I'd like that."

He waved goodbye to everyone and headed home.

After showering and changing clothes—

He sat at his desk.

Pulled out parchment.

And began writing.

To Cho.

He told her he missed her.

That summer had just started, and chaos had already found him.

That he had discovered he lived near the Weasleys—

Which meant his peaceful summer was officially doomed.

He smiled as he finished the letter.

Sealed it.

Ready to send in the morning.

A chaotic summer awaited.

But somehow—

He was looking forward to it.
