Point of View: Princess of Atlantis
The ocean has always been dangerous.
Not because it was cruel, but because it was indifferent.
The currents never stopped for anyone, predators felt no guilt, and the abominations… they simply existed.
Before Atlantis, there were no cities.
Only scattered groups, fragile territories that vanished in silence whenever something stronger appeared.
My father told me that story again and again.
He was the first.
The first creature of the ocean to ascend.
A common shark, born into an ordinary pack, who never imagined leading or ruling. He ascended after a desperate battle, fighting alone against an abomination that had destroyed his entire group. He was wounded, his body failing, and every instinct screamed at him to flee… but he couldn't.
And when he finally won, his cultivation advanced, and his ascension began.
Even now, he says he thought he was going to die.
When he ascended, he gained more than power.
He gained awareness.
Thought.
He told me that the first thing he felt wasn't strength.
It was fear.
Because he understood something no animal can comprehend without consciousness:
The world is far too vast to face alone.
For a time, he was the only intelligent being in the ocean.
The others couldn't understand words or strategies, but they understood protection. My father defended them, and they stayed. That was how the first groups began. They weren't armies or communities—just creatures moving together because it was safer.
The abominations always attacked. Every refuge was eventually destroyed.
My father lived through that… and he learned.
A year later, the next ascended appeared.
One by one.
Slowly.
Rarely.
And for the first time, he wasn't alone.
They understood the problem as well. The ocean was not a home; it was a constant trial. And so, through strategies, mistakes, and losses, an idea was born—one that would change everything:
Do not flee. Build.
It wasn't raised in a single day.
It wasn't grand at first.
It wasn't beautiful.
It was a crude refuge, built in a deep region surrounded by natural structures that blocked the currents and restricted access. A place where abominations could not enter…
Atlantis.
They never expected the System to recognize the place. But after that, the abominations stopped attacking Atlantis.
Because of their contributions, the sharks were named the Royal Family.
