Mia hated walking home this late.
This digital clock on the closed Coffee store across the street blinked 12:40 a.m. as she stepped onto the empty road, pulling her jacket tighter around herself .Her shift had ended late again .Her feet ached, her shoulders felt heavy ,and her mind was foggy with exhaustion:
She lived alone.
No family nearby.
No roommates.
Just a small apartment a few blocks away from campus.
He was a university student in the United States, managing classes during the day and a part-time job at a convenience store at night . Independence had sounded exciting once. Tonight it felt lonely.
The street was unusually empty.
No cards.
No people.
Only the soft hum of streetlights and the cold wind brushing against her skin.
Mia walked faster .She just wanted to get home.
The moon caused her attention.
It was red.
Not Orange. Not pink.
Red- like something alive.
Her foodsteps echoed.
Tap. Tap. Tap .
Then she felt it .
A presence .
She stopped .
Under a flickering straightlight ,about three meters away,stood a shadow shaped like a man. Too still . Too silent .
Her breath hitched.
"Hello?" She whispered.
No answer.
She blinked -
The Shadow was gone .
Her heart pounded as fear crawled
through her veins .She hurried home, locked herself inside, and tried to convince herself it was exhaustion.
But deep down, Mia knew.
That night had changed something .
And the blood moon had seen her.
