The main course… it looked utterly unappetizing…
Everyone stared at the enormous soul beast in the center of the enclosure. The beast was entirely black, with scarlet eyes and protruding fangs. Upon closer inspection, however, it was discovered that the blackness was merely a layer of black mist covering its body.
This somewhat sinister-looking soul beast completely extinguished any desire to eat.
Many people began to whisper amongst themselves, some even gagging.
Chi Xiu, unconcerned, chuckled,
"Maybe the quotation marks around 'main course' are just a euphemism."
0030 looked at him, "What do you mean?"
"Uh, it means this soul beast might be the main course of the entire gathering, and the previous river crossing was just dessert."
0030 smiled behind her mask, her golden eyes showing appreciation.
She couldn't help but praise, "It seems you see things very clearly in this social gathering. I'm looking forward to your performance later."
Chi Xiu was somewhat surprised by this praise.
0030 was clearly a cool and aloof older sister type, with long, white legs and a slender waist, topped with a large, voluptuous bra.
To be honest, it felt pretty good to be praised by this type of girl.
Returning the compliment, he said,
"But right now, in my eyes, you're the most eye-catching one. 0030 must be a beautiful older sister."
0030 paused for a moment upon hearing this, then lowered her head, looking somewhat dejected:

There was also a fence set up in the corner of the square, and inside was a similar soul beast, covered in a layer of ferocious iron armor, but this one was much smaller and seemed to be sleeping.
Chi Xiu glanced at it and then paid little attention. Perhaps the smaller soul beast was the offspring of the middle soul beast, and the larger one was definitely the larger one.
The young man leading the way then flew to the center of the plaza.
He folded his wings and loudly proclaimed,
"Listen up, everyone! This is your free time. Do whatever you want within the rules, feel free to express yourself."
"However, before you begin your free time, all the male soul masters present need to do one thing."
Chi Xiu's attention was immediately drawn.
The young man continued, "Each male soul master, come here and take a blank sheet of paper. Write down a sentence you've ever said, the most beautiful love quote you've ever been told. I believe everyone should have some memory of this."
"After you've written it, leave your corresponding number." Upon
hearing this, everyone present began to murmur amongst themselves.
This wasn't an experience everyone had had.
Someone shouted,
"I didn't say that! Can't I just make it up?!"
"Whatever."
What was that woman trying to do… This unexpected turn of events left 0030 extremely puzzled.
Just then, 0000 walked towards that direction.
"Hey, did you tell anyone?"
0030 stepped forward and asked, she was curious, no, extremely curious.
Chi Xiu turned to look at her and nodded seriously, "Yes."
The memory was still warm, as warm as that kiss from years ago.
But he didn't think too much about it at the moment; after all, so many years had passed, this was probably just a gimmick at the matchmaking event.
Chi Xiu took a blank sheet of paper, wrote a short message, left his number, and then handed it to the young man who had led the way.
Half an hour later.
A soldier carrying over a thousand sheets of white paper appeared at the palace gate.
"Would His Holiness the Pope be interested in this?"
An aged voice came from another direction in the hall.
The soldier immediately knelt: "Greetings, High Priest!"
Qian Daoliu waved his hand, took the basket of paper, and walked towards Bibi Dong.
Bibi Dong remained standing at the window, gazing into the distance, her noble and aloof face expressionless.
"So many sheets of paper, how long will it take you to finish reading them?"
"No need for the High Priest's trouble."
"I don't care about that. I just heard my granddaughter is here, so I came to see."
Bibi Dong sneered, offering no reply.
Qian Daoliu observed the direction of the plaza: "Any outstanding Soul Masters currently?"
"Number 0000 possesses extraordinary water element control abilities, even capable of controlling temperature to the extreme low temperatures."
"Oh?"
Qian Daoliu nodded slightly: "That's indeed impressive."
He quickly located Chi Xiu's position but didn't recognize 0030 beside him.

Free time.
Chi Xiu and 0030 found a place to stay alone.
Although it was supposed to be free time, the people giving scores were actually carefully observing everyone present, and these Soul Masters were all trying to find ways to show off.
Chi Xiu looked around; everyone seemed eager to try, but most couldn't find an opportunity to do so.
Not far away, a few people were drying their clothes over a fire; they seemed to be from Blazing Fire Academy.

Her tone... carried a hint of accusation.
Chi Xiu blinked. Had his earlier joke reached their ears?
"It's alright, you probably just heard a joke. I apologize if I offended you."
A girl standing nearby couldn't help but step forward, her tone unfriendly. "Don't think that just because you have some ability to control water elements you can't tell who you are. Do you think you can spread rumors about our dean? You ignorant fool!"
The girl in the lead quickly stopped the girl who was spouting nonsense, shaking her head and saying, "Don't start trouble, he's apologized."
The reason the people from Tianshui Academy were so angry was far more than that. Water element control was their own skill, but this boy had stolen the spotlight. How were they supposed to perform now?
Chi Xiu narrowed his eyes slightly. He had some ability to control water elements?
He looked at the girl who had spoken unfriendly, but didn't rush to retort. Instead, he turned to look at 0030.
"0030, what animal do you like?"
0030 was taken aback. She stood up, her stunning figure instantly overshadowing everyone from Tianshui Academy.
She asked doubtfully, "What animal do I like... a butterfly, does that count?"
Chi Xiu nodded and snapped his fingers crisply.
Suddenly, a red butterfly made of flames floated into the air, fluttering around the group and scattering sparks behind it—a truly stunning sight.
0030's eyes lit up.
Meanwhile, the people from Tianshui Academy stood frozen in place; this was… fire element!
