Chapter 12 - Epilogue

Epilogue – Venice, One Year Later

The morning sun sparkled off the Venetian canals, turning the water into liquid gold. The city buzzed softly with life, but in a quiet villa overlooking the Grand Canal, the world felt still and safe.

Emma stood on the terrace, cradling a small bundle in her arms, her eyes soft and full of love. The baby stirred, tiny fingers curling around hers, and a smile tugged at her lips. Lorenzo appeared behind her, slipping an arm around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.

"You two look happy," he murmured, voice low and intimate, brushing a gentle kiss across Emma's temple.

Emma laughed softly, leaning into him. "I think we finally have a normal morning," she said. "No fires, no kidnappings… no mafia chaos. Just us."

Lorenzo chuckled, dark eyes soft and tender as they watched the baby yawn. "Normal is… overrated," he teased. "But this… this is perfect."

For a moment, they just stood there, the sun warming their faces, the city humming below, the soft coos of their child filling the terrace with life.

Emma pressed her cheek against his chest. "I never thought we'd get here," she whispered. "From that first cliff, the memory loss… all the danger. I never imagined we'd… survive it all and… have this."

Lorenzo's hand rested over hers, holding them both close. "Emma, everything we went through… every fight, every fire, every mission… it led us here. To this moment. And I wouldn't change a thing. Because I get to have you—and our family. That's everything."

They smiled at each other, hearts beating in quiet rhythm, a lifetime of love and trust echoing in their silence. The villa was calm, their enemies vanquished or moved on, and the future stretched out ahead—full of hope, laughter, and life.

Lorenzo leaned down, brushing a tender kiss to Emma's lips. "I promise," he whispered, "I will always protect you… and our little one. Always."

Emma smiled, eyes shining, and whispered back, "And I'll always be by your side."

The sun rose higher, casting golden light across the canals. Venice glimmered, the city alive with beauty and promise. And for the Vitale family—Emma, Lorenzo, and their baby—it was the beginning of a new chapter: one built on love, trust, and the kind of happiness that only comes after surviving the storms together.

They stood on the terrace, wrapped in each other's arms, hearts full, ready to face the world—not as fugitives or warriors, but as a family.

And for the first time in a long while, everything felt exactly right.
