Chapter 8 - 008 "When Pressure Turns Fear into Strength"

🌷In the silence of broken ruins,

two different hearts learned that courage isn't loud…

it is the quiet decision to stand and not run."🌷

As soon as the first floor ended, both of them teleported directly to Floor 2. This time, they discussed what to keep in mind before clicking the start button.

Shakti said to her:

"This time the enemy is a little different. We will choose the characters accordingly, such that this floor will also be in our favor."

Sophia:

"Yes, you are right, we should think before taking any wrong step."

Shakti:

"I heard from people that this floor will be a little more difficult than the previous one."

Sophia asked:

"By the way, which enemy will we face this time? Do you know anything about it?"

Shakti replied:

"I don't know about the enemy's attack types, but I heard the name was something like Sentinel."

Sophia said:

"Ohhhh okay, let's see."

Shakti was completely focused this time, hoping he wouldn't do anything stupid or be embarrassed.

Shakti:

"Sophia, wait a minute, let me get some water."

Sophia:

"Okiiie, take your time, I will drink tooooo."

Both of them drank water and after some rest, Shakti sat down again holding the phone, with some new hope.

Sophia clicked the start button and, as per game rules, picked up two characters each.

Characters of Sophia:

1. Sylri Vaen (A mage having electro-type attacks… damage dealer.)

2. Lumerin

Both these characters are best for elemental reaction.

Characters of Shakti:

1. Rythe Calder (A sword-type character having forest-type attacks)

2. Kaishen

Game is processing for Floor 2.

As soon as they entered the combat field, a notification flashed in front of them.

"🌒 Floor 2 – Trial of Pressure"

The atmosphere was filled with smoke. There was silence; neither of them could see the enemy. It seemed as if someone was watching them from behind the smoke.

Shakti looked around. It felt like some kind of old ruins. Walls were made up of cracked bricks and stones, but the color was darker.

There were blood stains and marks on the ground.

Sound was muffled… the sound of their footsteps was echoing.

Shakti felt something was wrong here but couldn't explain it. She felt the same.

Shakti's inner thoughts:

"Why does it feel harder to breathe here…? Like something is bothering me for real…"

Shakti was lost in thought.

Sophia shouted in the chat:

"Heyyyyyyyyyyy wake up from dream, watch your behind!"

He turned his neck back and his eyes went straight to the name of the monster.

"Gravehowl Sentinel"

A massive armored beast — a wolf-type monster with dark metal-like skin and blue-colored cracks in parts of its body.

Suddenly… Shakti heard, coming from the monster, a deep howl echoing.

The phone was vibrating, felt like the ground was shaking.

Two white glowing eyes opened in the darkness.

Sophia typed:

"That doesn't seem like a normal wolf, not at all…"

This time Shakti did not run toward the enemy, but his hand was repeatedly telling him to attack.

Suddenly it started walking slowly.

Every step of the monster made the ground shake.

When it roared, a shockwave released, which slowed down the movement of characters.

Shakti told Sophia:

"I still don't know what it can do, so don't go near the enemy. As you saw, it has weird powers, it can make us slower."

Sophia typed:

"I see, I seeee."

The wolf started running around them. When the 2nd round was completed, it attacked Sophia's character with its head.

She dodged it and countered back…

Sophia's attack didn't reach… because it started running around again…

In this way, attacks were made three times one after the other, sometimes on Sophia and sometimes on Shakti.

They dodged all.

The wolf made a long jump and landed straight in the middle of the ruins.

When it fell, an aura activated around it and repelled both of them.

The Gravehowl Sentinel roared, its front legs moving as cracks spread across its dark armor.

But it wasn't done yet.

With a sudden bark, it placed one paw into the ground. The ruins started to break, and chunks of broken stone went into the air and floated above their heads.

Sophia:

"Wahhh… it's sooooo baddd!"

The stones came toward them like bullets.

Shakti quickly switched to Rythe Calder and sprinted in zigzag movements.

Shakti:

"Keep moving! Don't stop!"

Sylri Vaen blinked from one place to another. They could barely avoid the flying stones. One rock hit Kaishen, but Shakti didn't panic. He had been saving his Burst.

The Sentinel's chest core flickered again. It was unstable, hard to focus on it, flashing instead of glowing continuously.

Shakti inner thoughts:

"This is it… last phase."

The wolf gave one final, desperate roar and charged wildly. Its movements were aggressive but sloppy, armor pieces falling off with each step.

Sophia:

"It became insane now!"

Shakti:

"Don't worry, let it come closer!"

He stood for a while. The Sentinel jumped, jaws open.

At that moment, Shakti moved aside and activated Rythe's forest burst. Roots came from the cracked floor. It was not to trap the legs this time — but to pull the monster's body downward.

Its chest core was clearly visible.

Shakti typed:

"SOPHIA it's the perfect timing, FASTTTT!"

She reacted instantly. Sylri's burst was good to go. She unleashed her strongest electro burst. Lumerin's second skill was active in the field. It kept healing for a long time.

Lightning struck the chest core directly.

For a moment, everything went purple.

A sharp shattering sound echoed through the ruins — like glass breaking underwater.

The blue light inside the Sentinel exploded into small particles. Its huge body stopped moving, and it fell to the ground. The pressure in the air had gone instantly.

Silence.

The dark smoke environment began to fade.

Both of them stared at the screen. Shakti's hands were touching his head. Sophia's eyes were wide open.

Then—

[DEFEATED]

[Floor 2 Cleared – Trial of Pressure Complete]**

Three treasure boxes appeared in front of them.

Sophia:

"FINALLY, WE MADE ITTTT!!!"

An unconditional smile appeared on his face, finally relaxing his shoulders.

Shakti:

"My god, that was really harder than Floor 1…"

Sophia:

"But we didn't have fear this time."

He smiled.

Shakti:

"Yup… we learned from our past mistakes."

On the screen, a portal of soft red-white light appeared at the end of the ruined hall, which was leading to the next floor.

Shakti picked up his phone properly again, eyes ready now, there was no nervousness.

Shakti:

"Yoo, are you ready for final stage?"

Sophia:

"Hehehe… sure but after a small break again!"

And for the first time since entering the dungeon, Shakti laughed without any thoughts as the screen started processing toward the final floor.... No one knows what will happen in the next floor.

To be continued…
