Chapter 4 - chapter 4: Risks

After retreating, all students made their way back to Mr. Cypher and explained the situation to him . They told him about the danger that is lurking in the forest. Upon doing a head count, three students were reported missing. Liam Goldenberg led a search party into the forest, he searched until it became dawn.

'Master Goldenberg, there's something you need to see,' said one of the members from the search party, as he was taking a blood sample on the ground and on the trees. Liam Goldenberg made his way to the crime scene, and after a brief moment of looking around, he came to a conclusion.

'Blood? Hmm... It seems the children are no more; they were killed and taken by the Oger. It pains me to say this, but there's nothing we can do at this point. Inform Cipher of what we have discovered,' Liam Goldenberg said with a disappointed facial expression.

Three days later a funeral was held for the three deceased children. all of the students, teachers, and parents attended the funeral service. The cries of the deceased children's parents became even louder when their children's coffins started to descend into the ground. Sadness lingered in the air. Thadeus couldn't help but feel partially guilty for what happened, he was constantly thinking about if he was strong enough to slay the Oger then none of this would have happened, Along his side were Luthour and Aries, also longing for power and drowning in pain and guilt.

After the funeral, a meeting was held at the school regarding the incident. The principal would be seen addressing the issue, alongside Mr. Cypher, Goldenberg, and other teachers.

'I would like to thank you all for attending during this hour of grief. I would like to offer my sincere condolences and apology to the parents who were affected. May the souls of their beloved children rest in peace... Regarding the matter at hand, I would like to bring up Mr. Cypher, as he was one of the teachers responsible for the test,' the principal explained before stepping back.

As Mr. Cypher was about to speak, he was rudely interrupted by angry parents blaming him for everything that had happened.

One of the parents yelled 'It's all your fault!!!' and proceeded to ask 'Why were these children not supervised in a dangerous area ?You elves think you are all high and mighty, huh?'

'Silence!!! Need I remind you that this school is a school for heroes!? heroes who put their lives on the line to save others. Every single one of you knew the risk of enrolling your children to this school, so I dare you to blame me again' Mr. Cypher snapped, raising his aura in the process unaware that everyone could feel it's intensity

Everybody went silent, afraid to speak up, even to utter a single word.

'Now, now! there's no need to get all railed up, Cypher. The parents were just raising their concerns, that's all,' said the principal, displaying a warm, nice smile.

'Apologies, Principal. For a moment there I lost my temper. To all the parents with children enrolled at this school, your children are gifted. They have magic which can help make this world a better place. But in the line of duty... Deaths often occur... In this school, we can make them good heroes; we can make them use their powers for the greater good of humanity.. With that being said, if some of you have doubts about your children enrolling here, then I suggest you find another school which will help them with their powers, but make no mistake, there's no other school like beyond Fantasy,' Mr. Cypher explained.

After listening to Mr. Cypher's speech, all the parents managed to put their hearts at ease and put aside their concerns and worries. The fact that the school had such a zealous , determined, and talented teacher left no room for doubt . They knew what they were signing up for when they enrolled their children in beyond fantasy

'I apologise for questioning the school, discriminating, and blaming you for what happened, Mr. Cypher,' apologized the once-angry parent.

The two weeks that followed

Were a very tough time, everything went back to normal, and classes resumed. Some of the students were still uneasy about what happened, while some were more determined than ever to get stronger than before.

After school, Luthour created a portal in the classroom and entered it, only to re-appear Infront of the schools front entrance gate

'Still 30 meters, huh? Can't even create a portal to teleport me anywhere over 30. I'm pathetic,' Luthour belittled himself, while clenching his fists . His facial expression changed from enthusiastic to sad

After Luthour took a few steps, he noticed his family butler waiting for him, standing beside a portal.

'Right on time, young Master Luthour, right this way,' the butler directed his gaze to the portal portal while bowing his head.

Luthour entered the portal, and the butler followed. They appeared inside the mansion. Luthour asked the butler where his father was, and the butler told him that his father was in his study hall.

Luthour left his backpack with the butler and then made his way to the study hall. As he reached the door to the study, his hands seemed to still before knocking. Afraid of knocking, he waited a little while longer, then made up his mind and knocked. His father responded, telling him to come in. Luthour entered, walking slowly, and stopped Infront of his father's desk. Afraid to look his father in the eyes, he bowed his head.

'Father, pardon my intrusion. I know your burdens are many, but please grant me the honour of your training,' Luthour pleaded

'Huh... Luthour, at your age, I was able to do all the spells of portal magic. You should be able to train yourself. I am a noble, the head of this household and a teacher, so yes my burdens are many and I doubt that you could shoulder them. Furthermore, need i remind you that my time is not mine to spare? Do not ask again. You are of noble blood, are you not? Stand as such and prove yourself worthy,' Liam's voice was cold and calculated, and he made sure that his words cut deeper than a knife.

'But Father...'

'Enough! You have wasted my time already. Leave me at once! I am not here to coddle weakness. If you are truly of noble blood, then prove it without leaning from me!' Liam yelled at him.

Luthour angrily exited his father's study, hurt by his words. He continued walking, with only one thing on his mind – the word 'stronger' – and the determination to prove his father wrong, to become even stronger, greater than him.
