Sky
I woke up with sunlight blasting through the thin curtains like it had a personal grudge against my eyelids, and my head throbbed from whatever mix of exhaustion and regret I'd drowned in last night. The bed was a mess, sheets twisted around my legs, and Daniel was still there, sprawled out on his side, breathing steady like he hadn't just wrecked everything all over again. I didn't look at him, didn't want to see that stupid peaceful face because if I did I'd either punch it or kiss it and neither option sounded good right now. So I slid out quietly as I could, grabbed my pants from the floor where they'd landed in a wet heap, yanked them on without bothering to find underwear because who had time for that, and snuck out the door before he could stir.
