Chapter 26 - Eating With a Basin

"Wait a moment, you two. I'll go prepare the food."

Quinn Ye immediately went to cook.

Seeing that Quinn was going to cook personally, Master Cosmo was shocked.

How could he let the Expert do the work?

He immediately looked at Sia Xiao.

"Disciple, go help Young Master Ye."

Sia froze, feeling a bit troubled.

It wasn't that she didn't want to.

But she was born into a wealthy family and had never done chores in the Xiao Family.

Forget cooking.

She couldn't even recognize all the vegetables growing in the ground.

However, since her Master ordered it, she dared not disobey. She could only follow Quinn into the kitchen.

But not long after.

Sia came out dejectedly.

"What happened?"

Master Cosmo was dissatisfied.

"Young Master Ye kicked me out. He said I was clumsy and only causing trouble in the kitchen."

Sia looked aggrieved.

She felt wronged.

I am the Young Miss of the Xiao Family, after all. Just because I can't cook, he despised me so much.

Master Cosmo was also speechless.

"Alright then, just sit there quietly."

"Yes."

Sia sat back down.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got.

I want to see what kind of delicious food you can make!

Not long after.

Waves of fragrance wafted out from the kitchen.

Smelling this aroma, Sia's stomach instantly growled.

Gurgle.

Even Master Cosmo, who had practiced Inedia for years, felt his appetite stirring.

"So fragrant."

Cosmo was surprised.

Even his old bones were looking forward to what delicious food Quinn would make.

A while later.

A burst of stench suddenly drifted out from the kitchen.

The master and disciple's faces instantly turned black.

This stench... it smelled too much like that.

Anyone who didn't know better would think Quinn had diarrhea in the kitchen.

"Master, should we just leave?"

Sia was a little scared.

Master Cosmo remained steady, his face calm and unruffled.

"No need to worry. The Expert acts unconventionally. Perhaps this is a test for us."

A test?

That is possible.

But the smell was too foul.

It made Sia want to vomit.

Fragrance mixed with stench.

The whole room was filled with a weird smell.

The master and disciple sat on pins and needles, their hearts filled with both anticipation and fear.

"Here it comes! Sorry for the wait."

Quinn finally came out of the kitchen.

He was carrying a tray.

There were three dishes on the tray.

A plate of Braised Pork Belly.

A plate of Stinky Tofu.

And a plate of Tomato and Egg Stir-fry.

Quinn placed the dishes on the table and said, "There's still a pot of soup stewing. Let's eat these first."

With that, Quinn served two large bowls of rice for them.

The master and disciple stared blankly at the rice bowls, which were piled as high as small mountains.

"Uh... I can't eat this much."

Sia said awkwardly.

Master Cosmo immediately glared at her.

The latter quickly changed her tune: "If I try hard, I can finish it."

Quinn grinned. "Eat more. My cooking tastes pretty good."

Tastes good?

The two looked at the three dishes they had never seen before—especially the black tofu that emitted a strange stench.

They seriously doubted which aspect Quinn meant by "tastes good."

"Dig in! Don't be polite. It tastes best when it's hot."

Quinn wasn't polite with them.

He already picked up his bowl and started devouring the rice.

As a dedicated foodie , he was most pious only at this moment.

The master and disciple had no choice but to pick up their chopsticks.

Sia didn't dare look at the Stinky Tofu, and the Braised Pork Belly looked a bit greasy to her.

So she took a bite of the Tomato and Egg Stir-fry first.

"Hmm? This taste..."

Just the first bite made Sia's eyes light up.

The egg and tomato blended perfectly together.

It was incredibly appetizing.

Master Cosmo, on the other hand, tried a piece of Braised Pork Belly first.

He put it in his mouth with a frown.

But as soon as it entered his mouth, his brows relaxed instantly.

"So tender!"

"So fragrant!"

"Delicious!"

Cosmo chewed a few times and swallowed it directly.

His appetite was completely opened.

Braised Pork Belly and Tomato and Egg Stir-fry were the most common home-cooked dishes.

But in this world, such dishes didn't exist at all.

The master and disciple felt like they had opened the door to a new world. They couldn't stop eating.

"Try this Stinky Tofu!"

Seeing that they only ate the meat and eggs, Quinn urged them to try the tofu.

The master and disciple froze.

The disciple looked at the Master.

The Master looked at the disciple.

Finally, Sia braced herself. With a tragic heart, she picked up a piece of Stinky Tofu and put it into her mouth with difficulty.

But the next moment.

Sia's expression changed.

This Stinky Tofu smelled awful, but once inside the mouth, it had a unique fragrance.

Paired with Quinn's special sauce, it was spicy and delicious.

It had a distinctive flavor!

"Master, it's delicious!"

Sia said immediately.

Master Cosmo looked suspicious.

Is this girl trying to trick me?

With a skeptical attitude.

Cosmo also tasted a piece.

The result was truly a wonderful taste.

And for some reason, Cosmo fell in love with the taste of Stinky Tofu instantly, feeling it was even better than the other two dishes.

Thus.

The master and disciple quickly finished the rice in their bowls.

They weren't satisfied yet, looking at the empty bowls awkwardly.

"I'll get you more rice."

Quinn was very hospitable and refilled their bowls to the brim.

The two continued to gorge themselves.

While eating, Sia suddenly froze.

"Master... I think I've had an Epiphany!"

Sia said dazedly.

Master Cosmo was startled. He looked at his disciple.

Indeed, it was just like an Epiphany.

Her eyes were clearer than ever before.

A faint light radiated from her forehead.

Enlightenment!

This is Enlightenment!

Compared to a breakthrough in cultivation rank, this kind of Epiphany was even rarer. It determined how far a person could go on the path of cultivation in the future.

"Epiphany? You can have an Epiphany just by eating?"

Quinn muttered, not caring at all, and continued to stuff his face.

Sia looked at the rice in her bowl.

Could it be?

Did I achieve Enlightenment because I ate a lot?

Sia started eating even more vigorously.

Shortly after, Sia felt the spiritual energy in her body boiling.

Breakthrough!

Buzz!

With surging Blood and Qi, Sia's cultivation jumped from the Mid Source Gathering Stage directly to the Late Source Gathering Stage.

"Master, I broke through."

"What?"

Master Cosmo was dumbfounded.

Just in the time it took to eat a meal, his disciple had both an Epiphany and a breakthrough.

It was terrifying.

"No. As the Master, how can I lose to my disciple?"

Cosmo felt he couldn't lose face.

He guessed that Sia's breakthrough was definitely related to this meal.

This was the Expert's secret bestowal.

If he couldn't even see through this, he would have cultivated for hundreds of years in vain.

Thus.

"Do you have a large basin?"

Master Cosmo asked.

Quinn paused. "Uh, yes, I do."

"I want to eat from the basin!"

Master Cosmo said with full confidence.

Quinn almost choked.

Holy crap?

Is this old man crazy?

Eating from a basin?

Is he not afraid of dying from overeating?

"Old sir, maybe don't force yourself."

Quinn persuaded.

It wasn't that he was stingy with the rice.

The key was, if something happened to this old man, Quinn would be responsible.

"No matter. I have always had a big appetite. I always eat from a basin."

Master Cosmo said with a serious face.
