Chapter 126 - Chapter : Victory and Aftermath

The morning sun poured weakly through the broken windows, illuminating the devastation inside the convenience store. Shelves were toppled, noodles littered the floor like confetti, and soda cans had formed impromptu barricades in every aisle. The battle with the Oni General and thousands of minions was finally over.

Vario collapsed behind the counter, sweat soaking his hair, his hands still glowing faintly from the remnants of majiv. "We… we survived…?" he asked, voice hoarse.

Bella leaned on a half-collapsed shelf, knives still in hand, smirking despite the mess. "Barely. But yes. Somehow we actually survived. And that Oni General? Totally pissed off."

Nyx perched atop a leaning shelf, tossing a few chips into her mouth. "I have to admit… chaos never gets old. But seriously, look at this place. Total disaster."

Garruk flopped onto the floor, his soda tower reduced to a single dented can. "Worth it. Nobody takes down our store. Not Oni, not chainsaw cosplayers, not even… whatever else comes next."

Seraphine floated gently above, a calming glow radiating around her. "We have endured together. That is the true strength of a team. Even in utter chaos, we prevail." She gestured at the destruction, but her smile was serene. "Now, we restore what we can."

Varkos and Drogan carried the injured Oni corpses outside, while Ilyra re-froze the patches of melted floor, slowly repairing some of the cracks. Kael scribbled furiously in his notebook, muttering about probability, physics, and how soda can projectiles had absurdly saved the day multiple times.

Vario slowly stood, brushing off debris. He looked around at his friends and allies, battered but smiling. "I… I owe all of you. I never imagined defending a store could be this… insane."

Bella shook her head, chuckling. "You survived and didn't explode under the pressure. I'll call that a win."

Nyx hopped down, brushing off crumbs and noodle strands. "Next time, maybe we fight something smaller. Like, I don't know… a giant raccoon?"

Vario groaned. "No. Absolutely not."

Despite the destruction, laughter began to echo through the ruined aisles. Even after facing thousands of Oni, a near-apocalyptic siege, and an Oni General that could crush them all in one blow, the team found humor in their chaos.

Seraphine hovered over Vario, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Recovery will take time. But for now… rest. You earned it."

Vario sank into the counter corner, finally allowing himself a weak smile. "Thanks, Seraphine… and thanks to all of you."

Bella leaned over, smirking. "Don't get used to peace. This store will find new ways to test us. And I promise, it'll be ridiculous."

Outside, the streets were quiet for the first time in days. The Oni had retreated, licking their wounds and muttering promises of revenge. But inside, the store was filled with exhausted, smiling, and slightly insane defenders.

And for the first time in hours, Vario thought maybe, just maybe… a quiet day could actually exist.

Then he sneezed, and a can of soda fell from a shelf onto his head.

He sighed. "Never mind."

The convenience store stood, battered but undefeated—a monument to chaos, friendship, and the absurdity of surviving thousands of Oni.
