Chapter 93 - Chapter: The Zoo Observation

The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm orange glow over the zoo. The air was filled with the chatter of children, the distant calls of exotic birds, and the occasional roar of big cats pacing in their enclosures.

Bella and Nyx walked slowly down the winding paths, snacks in hand, taking a rare break from the chaos of the store. Nyx was busy filming small clips for her "documentation series," capturing funny moments of visitors and animals alike, while Bella's eyes wandered curiously across the exhibits.

Then Bella stopped abruptly, pointing toward one of the monkey enclosures. "Look at the monkey," she said, her tone teasing. "It… it looks like you."

Nyx followed her gaze, blinking in surprise. The monkey, a small, scrappy creature with wiry hair and bright, mischievous eyes, was perched on a branch, mimicking the gestures of a nearby visitor with uncanny precision.

Nyx's eyes widened. "Wait… are you serious?"

Bella nodded, smirking. "The way it's scratching its head and twitching its arms… Nyx, that's basically you."

Nyx crossed her arms, trying to hide the blush rising to her cheeks, but couldn't help giggling. "I… that's not fair! I don't flail around like that!"

"Do too," Bella shot back, laughing. "Remember last week at the store? You were running around trying to fix that stack of snacks, arms everywhere. That monkey has your energy."

Nyx laughed harder, pointing at the monkey now mimicking a jump and a quick swing from branch to branch. "Okay, okay, maybe it's a little me," she admitted, shaking her head with a grin.

Bella nudged her playfully. "A little? That monkey is your twin, Nyx. Same expressions, same sass, same chaos."

Nyx raised her camera, aiming it at the monkey for a perfect shot. "Well, if this monkey's going to be my doppelgänger, at least it's cuter than me."

Bella laughed and shook her head, watching the monkey climb and swing with acrobatic precision. "Cuter or not… I swear you two could star in a comedy together."

The monkey paused on the branch, looked directly at Nyx, and let out a squeaky, almost judgmental chitter. Nyx grinned, bowing slightly in mock respect. "Yes, yes, I see it too. We're practically family."

The two of them continued down the path, Nyx filming, Bella teasing, and the monkey following their antics from its perch. For a few hours, the zoo became a perfect stage for laughter, teasing, and the kind of lighthearted chaos that both Nyx and Bella thrived on.

And somewhere between the cages and the enclosures, the resemblance between Nyx and the mischievous monkey became a running joke—one that would be referenced countless times back at the store.
