Chapter 87 - Chapter: Farewell Kiss

The night was quiet, almost eerily so. Aisle 4 had finally settled after another day of chaos, pranks, and accidental disasters. The shelves were still slightly crooked, a few glitter traps hadn't fully retracted, and a faint smell of grilled pork lingered in the air.

Nyx stood near the exit, a small bag slung over her shoulder, eyes glinting with a mixture of excitement and sorrow. Vario approached slowly, sensing something was different.

"You're really leaving," he said softly.

Nyx nodded. "I have to… the fantasy world needs me. There's… things only I can do there." Her voice trembled slightly, but her usual playful smirk remained.

Vario's hands tightened at his sides. "When will you come back?"

Nyx shook her head. "I don't know. Could be months, could be years… or maybe forever."

For a long moment, neither spoke. The hum of the refrigerators and the faint buzz of the neon lights were the only sounds. Then, before Vario could react, Nyx leaned in, brushing her lips lightly against his.

It was a soft, fleeting kiss—full of unspoken words, laughter, and memories of chaos together.

Vario froze, heart pounding, a thousand things running through his mind. "Nyx… wait—"

But when he turned, she was already gone. A faint shimmer lingered for a moment by the doorway, then vanished entirely, leaving only the faint scent of her perfume behind.

Vario stood alone, staring at the empty doorway. His chest ached, but a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.

"She really… left her mark," he whispered to himself.

Behind him, the store remained the same—messy shelves, glitter traps, and scattered snacks—but now it felt quieter. Somehow emptier.

Yet in that emptiness was a promise: a world beyond this one, and a friendship—and maybe more—that distance couldn't erase.

Nyx was gone, but her chaos, her laughter, and her love lingered, etched into the very walls of Aisle 4.
