Chapter 38 - Garruk Meets Bella at the Gym

The gym smelled of sweat, metal, and faint traces of protein shakes. Bella was perched on a weight bench, one leg propped over the edge as she stretched lazily, scrolling through her phone. She wore her usual assassin attire adapted for training—dark leggings and a fitted top that allowed for movement.

From the corner of the gym, a massive shadow moved. Garruk, towering and heavily muscled, carried a set of dumbbells as if they weighed nothing. His piercing eyes scanned the room until they landed on Bella, and a faint smile tugged at his lips.

"Well, aren't you… far from your usual battlegrounds," he rumbled, voice deep and gravelly.

Bella didn't flinch, resting her chin on her hand. "Garruk. Didn't expect to see you pumping iron instead of… y'know, causing chaos." She tilted her head, studying him with her sharp assassin instincts. "What brings you to a place like this?"

He set the dumbbells down with a controlled thud. "Discipline," he said simply. "Strength isn't just for battle. Even someone like me benefits from… balance." His gaze softened slightly. "And it seems someone else here appreciates it too."

Bella smirked, hopping down from the bench. She moved closer, circling him with catlike grace. "Balance, huh? I thought you only cared about smashing things and swinging axes."

"I have more layers than that," Garruk replied, flexing slightly as he picked up a kettlebell. "You might be surprised."

Nyx, who had coincidentally wandered into the gym to try a "health challenge," squealed and clapped her hands. "Ooooh! A gym showdown! This is perfect! Imagine the brainrot levels of Bella versus Garruk!"

Bella rolled her eyes. "Nyx, stay out of this. This is serious training, not your chaos parade."

Garruk chuckled lowly, watching Bella move through her stretches. "I can see why you're skilled. Your control, your precision… it's like watching a predator at rest."

Bella's smirk widened. "A predator, huh? Maybe you're the one underestimating me. Want to test it?"

Garruk's grin deepened. "I thought you'd never ask."

And with that, the gym, already filled with the sounds of clanging weights and hissing treadmills, became the stage for an unspoken duel of strength, precision, and silent respect—two warriors meeting outside their usual battlegrounds, testing limits in a world of ordinary human routines.

Even Nyx couldn't help but clap in giddy excitement. "This… this is amazing! Muscle tension, brainrot energy, and high-stakes flexing all in one!"

Bella rolled her eyes again, but there was a faint glimmer of amusement in her sharp gaze. Garruk, for his part, remained stoic yet intrigued.

In the middle of sweat and metal, two worlds collided—one of chaos and assassins, and one of disciplined strength—and both fighters knew this was just the beginning.
