Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Egghead Island

"Egghead Island is just ahead. Have we still not established contact with Vegapunk?"

A group of masked agents from the CP Organization were sitting in the cabin discussing things. The agent leading them was tall, and his voice sounded like the friction of iron plates.

"No response at all. Could Vegapunk have discovered something?"

"That's quite normal," one agent spoke up. "After all, that's Vegapunk. Who knows what kind of black technology inventions a mad scientist like him might have?"

"Then we'll wait a while, rendezvous with the Marine, and begin a full-scale assault!"

However, before the agents could finish their discussion, there was a loud boom. A terrifying stream of water, like a high-pressure water jet, sliced the entire ship in half!

"What's going on?" Jumping out of the cabin in a disheveled state, several agents turned their heads and saw a monster on the ocean. It looked like a Shenron, covered in golden metal with a giant metal horn on its head, watching them hungrily.

"Oh no! This is... MetalSeadramon!"

MetalSeadramon, Machinedramon, and WarGreymon were the three strongest combat forces on the surface created by Vegapunk, specifically used to guard Egghead Island on ordinary days.

That's right, Vegapunk had blatantly plagiarized Digimon!

Their actual combat power certainly couldn't compare to real Digimon, but dealing with a few agents was truly a piece of cake.

Machinedramon had powerful firepower and long-range attack capabilities; WarGreymon was fast and formidable in close-quarters combat; while MetalSeadramon was an expert in maritime combat and the natural enemy of Devil Fruit Users.

MetalSeadramon looked at the agents before him and snorted. Two laser beams shot out from its nostrils, and two slightly slower agents screamed as they were instantly sliced in two.

"Damn it! Go, take it down!" The leader of the agents gritted his teeth. He knew very well that they couldn't possibly escape MetalSeadramon's pursuit on the open sea; their only chance of survival was to completely defeat this fellow.

Several agents used Moonwalk to charge forward, but their resistance was almost meaningless against MetalSeadramon. Following a series of screams, several corpses fell onto the sea surface... "Damn it, it seems Vegapunk is truly prepared to have a falling out with us!"

On a Marine warship, a man with a serious face, stern features, wearing a red suit and a Marine cap, looked at the intelligence in his hand with a hint of anger.

This was the Marine Admiral Akainu. At this moment, a red light appeared in his eyes, black smoke rose, and the intelligence paper in his hand was directly melted into a pile of black ash by high-temperature magma.

"That's quite normal! Although Vegapunk seems like just an ordinary scientist, according to our Marine intelligence, that fellow isn't so honest either. It's just that we've never caught any real hard evidence!"

The adjutant standing beside Akainu frowned and asked, "The main issue now is, Admiral, do we need reinforcements?"

"If we advance any further, we'll likely enter the waters defended by Egghead Island. It's not a wise move to fight MetalSeadramon on the sea."

Akainu remained silent. Even though he was a Marine Admiral and one of the top powerhouses on the entire sea, he didn't dare to underestimate Vegapunk's inventions. WarGreymon and Machinedramon were one thing—at most, they'd take some effort, and he could still dismantle them.

But if he encountered MetalSeadramon on the open sea, even Akainu would find it very troublesome. MetalSeadramon was equipped with a large amount of Sea Stone and could directly draw seawater for industrial-grade water jet attacks, which was a complete counter to him as a Magma-Magma Fruit user.

Most importantly, MetalSeadramon could attack ships from underwater. Once there was no foothold, facing MetalSeadramon on the vast ocean would be a dead end even for a Marine Admiral like Akainu.

Gritting his teeth, although Akainu had a cold personality and didn't care about human lives, he wasn't truly brainless: "Let's wait a bit longer! Since the initial plan to infiltrate the island under disguise failed, we'll wait for the Marine reinforcements to arrive!"

The Marine didn't dare to take Vegapunk lightly either. The initial plan was for Akainu and the World Government agents to directly enter Egghead Island for a decapitation strike, but if the plan failed, they were also prepared for a full-scale assault.

Therefore, in the second reinforcement team, the other Marine Admiral Aokiji was also ready. As if their abilities countered each other, this Chilly-Chilly Fruit user happened to be the nemesis of MetalSeadramon... The endless sea was frozen into an ice field, smoke rose from all over Egghead Island, and various robots and clone soldiers were in a frantic battle with the Marine.

"Pah! Vegapunk's inventions are truly difficult to deal with! It seems he only gave us Marines some defective products!"

A Marine officer, clutching his injured arm, kicked the head of a mechanical soldier on the ground and cursed.

Beside him, the curly-haired Aokiji clutched a wound on his chest and panted heavily: "That fellow Vegapunk developed combat machines that can even bypass Elementalization. He never reported such a thing to the Marine!"

The wound on his chest was left by WarGreymon. Although that WarGreymon had been frozen into a block of ice by Aokiji, he still felt a lingering fear thinking about the battle just now.

Aokiji, who never expected that Elementalization would be completely useless, was almost disemboweled due to his carelessness.

However, the battle was finally over now. Although both Marine Admirals were somewhat injured and the soldiers under them suffered heavy losses, the two were still relatively satisfied.

No one knew exactly how many types of new technology were on Vegapunk's Egghead Island, but setting aside high-end war machines like the Three Great Dragon Beasts, the ordinary mechanical soldiers alone would be a huge gain for the Marine as long as they could be mass-produced.

"Let's go to the central laboratory first. It's better to be careful before we catch this mad scientist!"

Seeing the Marines letting their guard down slightly, Akainu spoke with a serious expression. Blood was also trickling from the corner of his mouth; he had been injured by the shock of Machinedramon's final self-destructive attack, and even a few of his ribs were broken.

Opening the door to the central laboratory, the two Marine Admirals walking in front had serious expressions and guarded postures, yet they encountered no traps or enemies upon reaching the central room.

Pushing open the final door, Akainu looked at Vegapunk, who was sitting in a chair and seemed to be adjusting some instruments, and Nico Robin, who was standing beside him. He said coldly, "Vegapunk, and Nico Robin, you are under arrest!"

Vegapunk slowly raised his head, a strange smile appearing on his face: "Hehe, arrest me? Sorry! I choose—everyone sinking into the sea together!!"

"I think you should go take a look at the outskirts of the island right now!"
