Two days.
That was all that remained before the full moon. I had tried not to think about it but I failed. Every time I looked toward the sky, I found myself calculating how much time was left.
Every time someone mentioned the moon, my stomach tightened. Even the pale light slipping through the windows seemed to carry a warning I couldn't escape and the worst part was that I still didn't completely understand what I was afraid of.
I knew about Hades's curse. I knew every mate before me had died before the fourth full moon.
I knew the closer the moon came, the more tense Hades became.
I sat at the edge of my bed that morning, staring at my hands. They looked ordinary now. These were the same hands that had healed a dying plant, summoned blue flames, touched strange symbols and seen things that had happened long before I was born.
And lately, they had begun doing something else. They could feel emotions.
