Damien looked down at the girl trembling in his arms, her body shaking with sobs as she begged him to touch her.
Inside him, his wolf howled in anguish for her pain. Yet Julien's last poisonous words still echoed in his head, fueling something darker, more possessive. More than anything, Damien wanted to erase that man's presence from her completely to cover her in his own scent like an unbreakable, sacred mark that no one could ever overwrite.
His large hands slid up, cradling the back of her neck as his fingers curved gently around her nape. He pulled her toward him and claimed her trembling lips.
