Chapter 23 - Zod??

Chapter Seventeen

**Kara's POV**

Kara was having a good two weeks she'd decorated her new home, and her new family got to meet her old one, well, the super-crystalline supercomputer with the memories and thoughts of all those who came before her, but who is nitpicking.

Many had opinions on the decor, to which she took some to heart but refused on principle to others.

She'd allowed the computer to permit the occasional visit from one of the stored memories, she created easy and simple Holo emitters and implanted them into the main crystal matrix, allowing the memories or (minds) to walk and talk among visitors but allowing for all decor and privacy to the living, which came with its own rules and restrictions she really didn't want to think about right then, while she looked over much of what she could do.

She used this time to test her body, and her abilities, she tried testing the limits of her power, only for Odin himself to personally arrive with his guards thinking Asgard as under attack. Talk about embarrassing, she had to apologize to half the city for three days and help fix a lot of the landscape she had destroyed.

The voice of her virtue-father seemed a bit too pleased with her progress.

Many times, Thor would spar with her, she was always faster, stronger, more powerful. She held back by a large margin, but she hated to admit she was beaten in a few fights by her own inexperience. She could tell if Thor were ever her physical match the fight would all go a different way.

Thor would feign moving or swinging, only to dodge at the last minute, he'd often show her the mistakes she made, the openings she left, the patterns she fell into, and she loved every minute of it, even Loki was let out under guard to spar, but Odin only did that to allow Kara her revenge for the football field. Loki had learned that Kara was shown just how the Hulk had man handled him and proceeded to do the same, BEST DAY EVER!

To Kara surprise Thor has asked to sit in and learn with her, he was not fascinated with learning as much as I was, but he told me how he wished he had learned more, alongside Loki instead of making fun of him, " If I learned more with him maybe we could understand each other better and be better brothers to each other," he confided in me.

They were often given instruction by one of the memories, but this time Kara accessed the fighting and Military sections where she and Thor had asked for a description and instruction to the fighting techniques.

"Now remember!" the elder hologram paused for dramatic effect, then continued. "As I show you the refined, advanced combat systems designed for beings with super-strength, featuring techniques like *Klurkor* a lethal, style. *Torquasm Vo* a mental, discipline and focuse and *Torquasm Rao* a meditative, defensive art."

The hologram gestured, demonstrating forms that looked both beautiful and deadly.

"These arts, including specialized techniques like *Horu-Kanu* for triggering violent reactions via pressure points, are used by Kryptonians to fight other empowered beings. Now, I say *system* instead of technique because this is specialized combat refined over one hundred thousand years, not some kicks and strikes primitive farmers use. NO! This is a system designed to *destroy* your enemies. And it has never failed."

The hologram looked directly at her.

"But for this, you will be instructed by another. And as the last El, it is your duty to carry out this instruction and finalize your training."

At the end of his speech, Kara was getting confused.

Then she saw two figures materialize.

One was her father.

The other... was Zod.

Kara stood, anger flaring hot and immediate. Her eyes glowed a deep golden color, power crackling in the air, cape moving on its own.

Then she felt a large, warm hand, "steady". A voice sounded besides me. A feeling of safety and warmth as Thor stepped to her side, looking at the new figure before them.

They knew it was a hologram, but it was hard for even Thor not to treat someone who angered his new sister as hostile.

"Who are you, stranger, that my new sister should act so hostile toward you?" Thor asked, voice carefully controlled, but held a hint of anger.

Kara saw what appeared to be two very tired holograms.

Which shouldn't be possible, the base code wouldn't allow for the showing of emotions unless someone had fundamentally altered the code sequence.

*Ehh, That's future Kara's problem,* she decided, passing it on to the idiot future self, she thought.

"Your Uncle Dru-Zod is not our enemy, my daughter," her father's voice told her gently.

Kara's breath caught. "What?"

"Please, sit. I promise some things will be explained now, and some later", her father was telling her, before he was interrupted by Zod. "But for operational security, you will NOT have access to any of your father's experiment logs, network communications, any of it, NOR will you be allowed to try to bypass this restriction until the proper time, or events take place in which safety becomes a concern. If you attempt to bypass or delete this command. All, and I mean all memory from the Sanctum will be deleted. Permanently."

Zod's words hit her like a physical blow. *knock, knock, future self this is you 20 seconds ago... tag your it, Idiot, STUPID HEAD!*

"What is this about, Father?" Kara asked, confusion warring with terror.

The thought that the programming would allow removal of access from an active, living user was said to be impossible, and yet here she stood, witnessing it firsthand.

Her father's hologram looked at her with something that might have been regret.

"You will be given orders from Odin on where to meet with the computer and Kelex for your instruction, as Odin as been made aware of everything. There are a few last minute things he needs to do, you will be told much about why you're

being instructed by me later. But right now..."

Zod gestured, and a screen appeared showing an agitated Tony Stark being followed around by two sets of Avengers, both sides looking equally agitated, while Tony yelled into the air and waved his hands around frantically. "We were able

to use the Bifrost's emergence points signal and piggybacked on the field thru subspace, no audio." Zod zoomed in.

"Tony Stark is having a situation with a few travelers, it seems." Zod said narrowing his eyes and doing something thru the computers she could see the light pulsating thru the crystal structure, but her attention was taken by a loud

voice. "Come, sister!" Thor's voice pulling her attention away from what the virtue-uncle was doing. "We must get to the bottom of this at ONCE!"

Kara was confused, then looked to where Thor was concentrating.

What she saw made her understand his anger immediately.

A fat, gross, heavily bearded version of Thor wearing stained sweats.

She supposed if she saw a blob version of herself wielding what looked like an even stronger weapon than her brother's, she'd understand where his fury came from.

Apparently, this version had tried to steal his hammer sometime in the future and got his butt kicked by her brother. That's what Tony had told her, *ohh crap baskets* she forgot to tell Thor about fat Thor, ehh... future Kara problems

again, anyway.

Then Tony said Thor had mentioned having a rabbit with him.

A rabbit. *Whatever that is.*

Kara didn't care. Something was clearly very wrong, and her new friends needed her.

After hurried goodbyes to the holograms her father looking troubled, Zod standing silent and watchful as Thor and Kara flew very quickly toward the Bifrost.

Whatever happened this time, she hoped she could help more than she had before.

And maybe, just maybe, get some answers about why Zod, the man who had rebelled on Krypton was supposed to train her in combat, one question that stayed running in her mind, who and for what purposed had uploaded Zod into the family

crystal.

But that was a problem for once again for future Kara, seriously she was starting to feel bad for that girl she was just glad she didn't have to worry about past Kara mistakes.

Right now, at this moment Tony needed help, and she was confident she wouldn't have to put more on future Karas plate...

And there were apparently two Thor's causing trouble, but at least she only owned this one, and not the gross used one, yep a fresh clean not fat and gross brother was better.

*Just another day in Asgard,* Kara thought as they raced toward the Bifrost.
