Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 : King Kai I am not, don’t talk nonsense

Lin Luo soon grasped the situation. Aside from the Dragon Ball World, which had only recently integrated into the Wanjie video network, most other dimensions had been connected for an age.

The viewers across these countless planes had grown accustomed to the peculiarities of the multiverse—including the phenomenon of different beings sharing identical voices. What once caused a stir was now met with a collective shrug; across the vast expanse of the myriad worlds, vocal doppelgängers were a common occurrence.

The video surged forward. Enraged by the loss of his tail, Vegeta began a brutal assault on Yajirobe, leaving the coward reeling. Seizing the opening, Gohan rushed the Saiyan Prince to buy time.

Meanwhile, Krillin scrambled to the side of Son Goku, his heart aching at the sight of his lifelong friend. Goku lay broken in the dirt, his body a map of scorched armor and weeping wounds. With a raspy voice, Goku confessed that his strength had utterly evaporated. The hope of the Earth now rested solely on Krillin and Gohan.

Goku revealed that during Vegeta's Great Ape rampage, half of the gathered Spirit Bomb energy had bled away into the atmosphere. Only a fragment remained. He reached out, his trembling hand grasping Krillin's, and began the delicate process of transferring the remaining life energy. He tasked Krillin with the ultimate responsibility: shaping and detonating the Spirit Bomb.

Creeping behind the distracted Prince, Krillin molded the shimmering blue energy into a sphere the size of a basketball. It was their final gambit, but the chaotic dance of Gohan and Vegeta's struggle made it impossible to lock on. Krillin hesitated, waiting for that one perfect heartbeat of stillness.

Suddenly, Yajirobe—who had just saved the world minutes prior—shattered the silence. "What are you waiting for! Fire it already!" he bellowed. The roar gave Krillin away instantly.

Vegeta spun around, forcing Krillin to launch the projectile prematurely without a true lock. As expected, the elite warrior effortlessly sidestepped the blast. Disaster struck as the Spirit Bomb continued its trajectory, heading straight for Gohan.

"Gohan! Don't run! Deflect it!" Goku's telepathic command rang through his son's mind. He explained that the Spirit Bomb, born of pure life, could be redirected by anyone harboring a soul free of evil.

Trusting his father, Gohan braced himself and swatted the energy back. Caught off guard by the redirected strike, Vegeta was engulfed by the blue sphere and launched screaming into the upper atmosphere.

Krillin: "I didn't realize how much power Goku was holding. If that's his trump card, it has to be enough."

Krillin: "Vegeta took the full brunt of it. He's finished, right? He has to be."

Yamcha: "@Yajirobe, you went from MVP to the biggest blunder in history in sixty seconds."

Tien Shinhan: "Exactly. If Gohan hadn't been pure-hearted, you would have just vaporized our last teammate!"

Yajirobe: "Hey! I was just trying to help! How was I supposed to know he'd hear me?"

Yajirobe felt the sting of the video's truth, but his stubborn pride wouldn't let him back down in the comments.

Krillin: "You literally alerted the enemy! You forced my hand before I could aim!"

Yajirobe: "..."

The silence from the coward was deafening. Master Roshi chimed in, scratching his head in confusion.

Master Roshi: "Wait a minute... Goku didn't know a 'Spirit Bomb' technique when he left. Where did he learn something that powerful?"

Son Goku: "I think King Kai taught it to me!"

Master Roshi: "King Kai? Who is that?"

Son Goku: "I'm not sure yet. Lord Enma and Kami told me he's the strongest God in the universe. I'm actually on my way to find him right now for training!"

Far away on his tiny planet, King Kai nearly choked on his tea. He was proud that his future pupil showed such promise, but Goku's comment about him being the "strongest God" sent a shiver down his spine. He had seen the earlier comments from Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction. Being called the "strongest" in front of that man was a death sentence.

King Kai: "Cough, cough! Goku, stop talking! I am absolutely not the strongest God. I have a few tricks, sure, but let's not use that word 'strongest' ever again. Seriously."

Son Goku: "Oh. Okay."

On the endless stretch of Snake Way, Goku scratched his head. Kami had been so certain, but if King Kai said otherwise, he'd drop it. Still, his mind returned to the battle. Was the Prince truly gone?

[Vegeta: "Hmph! You think a pebble of energy like that could snuff out my life?"] [Vegeta: "Enjoy your delusions while you can. I'm coming for all of you!"]

Aboard his Frieza Force scout ship, the current-timeline Vegeta watched his past self's defeat with a mix of fury and disdain. The indignity of being tossed by a child's deflection burned his pride, but he knew his own resilience better than anyone.

As the tension peaked, the Narrator's voice resonated across the multiverse once more.

"The Great Ape Transformation of the Saiyans may seem primitive compared to what follows, but its raw utility is undeniable."

"While it is the baseline for Saiyan evolution, the transformation grants a staggering tenfold increase in power. To put this in perspective: Vegeta's base power level was 18,000—a level capable of reducing Earth to cosmic dust with a single beam. Though his Ki was drained by the creation of the Power Ball, his Great Ape form still surged toward a Power Level of 100,000."

"With a Power Level of 100,000, destroying multiple planets becomes as effortless as breathing."

Lin Luo had added this specific narration to ensure the denizens of the Wanjie Multiverse understood the sheer scale of the Dragon Ball world. In many high-level Xuanhuan worlds, a tenfold power boost was a legendary feat reserved for forbidden secret techniques that often carried soul-shattering side effects.

Yet, for a Saiyan, it was a biological birthright. If the simple Great Ape form could eclipse the 'secret arts' of the heavens, what would happen when they witnessed the tiers that lay beyond?
