Chapter 63 - 63-Blood and Business

"Chef. Sunshine Grand Hotel."

Kent blurted out two names.

"That bear cook got his hands on a massive batch of goods recently. On the surface, he's the head chef at the Sunshine Grand Hotel, but secretly he's actually a major distributor."

With useful information in hand, Boshita left satisfied.

He immediately called his two underlings, Haki and Hami. The cat-men brothers hadn't been in contact since they parted ways, but shortly after the call, they pulled up in a convertible.

That's right, a convertible.

The doors swung open, and the two cat-men hopped out.

"Boss!"

Boshita stared at them in surprise.

"Where did you get this car?"

"Uh... a friendly citizen lent it to us..."

Boshita suddenly overcame the feeling that these two had real potential and decided to nurture them properly in the future.

So now he switched vehicles yet again.

Driving his new yellow convertible felt fantastic, though he left behind the resentful gazes of the cat brothers who had to follow him on a Harley.

After arriving at the Sunshine Grand Hotel, he gave them their task. They were to investigate the bear chef's movements and report back to him.

Shortly after, they called. The bear chef was currently in the alley behind the hotel.

Boshita set off immediately.

Inside the alley, a towering bear-man stood in a corner with his phone in hand, speaking with someone unknown.

Only small bits of the conversation carried through.

"That batch of goods..."

Seeing someone approach, his eyes turned vicious, and he hung up at once.

He recognized at a glance that Boshita had come looking for trouble and immediately pulled out a machete.

Boshita originally just wanted to ask for clues, but judging from that reaction, Negotiating would be impossible.

Without another word, Boshita attacked directly.

An explosive aura erupted from him as he rushed toward the bear, his right hand gripping an enchanted baseball bat glowing with a faint blue light.

The bear-man was absolutely massive. Compared to him, Boshita seemed like a toddler.

Without any hesitation, the bear-man raised his blade and chopped down.

The edge struck the bat with a sharp clang, sparks scattering everywhere.

He was really strong, way stronger than Boshita anticipated. His expression turned serious.

If the bat wasn't made of metal, he would have been cleanly sliced in half.

The bear chef's hand went numb from the impact. The electricity of the enchanted bat nearly made him drop his blade.

Fortunately, his thick hide kept the damage to a minimum.

"ROAR!"

The bear let out a fierce roar, and his attacks became more aggressive, swinging the blade in wide arcs.

For a moment, Boshita struggled to keep up, just barely dodging and blocking the incoming barrage of strikes.

"Boss, we're here to help!"

The cat brothers really were loyal, charging forward when they saw their boss getting overwhelmed like that. Unfortunately, they were severely lacking in strength to actually be of help.

They were almost instantly sent flying after just a few exchanges.

This bear-man was definitely the strongest opponent Boshita had encountered since entering Liberty City.

Their fight continued for what felt like hours.

Soon, the bear chef was breathing heavily, unable to keep up with Boshita's agility.

'Damn it. I only wanted to quickly make a call and didn't bring any backup weapons. Otherwise, this Blue-skinned piece of shit would already be 6 feet under...'

Boshita saw an opening. The exhausted bear was gasping, and his movements were slowing down considerably.

He seized the moment and delivered a quick and decisive flying kick.

*Boom!*

The bear's massive body crashed to the ground, dust rising into the air.

Boshita stepped forward, intending to force him to reveal the origin of that batch of goods, but the bear-man turned out to be stubborn beyond reason.

Even after being subdued, he still snarled and tried to bite with his jagged teeth.

Boshita threw several heavy punches, beating him until his entire face was just an amalgamation of blood, swollen skin, and broken bones. Finally, the bear collapsed unconsciously.

A phone tumbled out of his pocket.

Seeing the bear basically dead, Boshita felt he might have gone a bit too far.

Now that the stubborn bear was gone, the phone subsequently became his only clue, thus He pocketed it swiftly.

While collecting his thoughts, a black panther-man stepped out from the corner.

"Who are you?"

Boshita's expression turned wary.

"Easy, brother. My name's Lance Vance."

It turned out to be one of the black panther brothers he had traded with before. Boshita still remembered that during a shooting in the past, his brother had been shot dead on the spot.

After some conversation, he learned what happened.

Back then, one of the Vance brothers was killed while the other, Lance the black panther, escaped on a hoverbike.

These days, Lance had also been tracking the murderer to avenge his brother.

Now they shared a common target.

Lance proposed they cooperate and find that guy together.

"It's them, get 'em!"

While they were talking, a group wearing chef uniforms rushed out. Apparently, the bear-man's subordinates.

But these goons were clearly no match for Boshita. He dealt with them all with just a few moves.

Following Lance outside, they stopped beside a luxurious white sports car. At one glance, Boshita immediately fell in love with it.

Lance was loaded. No surprise for someone involved in underground dealings.

He said he would contact him again later and gave him a location.

"I know a friend. When you have some time, go check him out. You'll find some interesting toys."

He handed the address to Boshita, then drove off.

Boshita was curious what these "toys" were referring to.

He kicked his two underlings lying on the ground pretending to be dead, dismissed them, and drove alone toward the address.

After more than half an hour, he arrived in an abandoned industrial district.

Following the address, Boshita found a hidden entrance. A dark passage emitting a damp, moldy smell.

He muttered to himself.

"The place was correct, so it must be deeper inside."

This place seemed to be connected to the entire underground sewer system of Liberty City.

Without hesitation, he walked deeper inside.

In the dim environment, he followed the sewer for a long time, until he no longer knew where he was.

Suddenly, light appeared ahead.

Getting closer, he discovered a whole hidden world inside.

"This place is an underground black market..."

He never expected such a bustling world to be hidden beneath Liberty City.

Both sides of the street were packed with stalls selling weapons, potions, intelligence, rare ores, and other contraband.

People of all kinds gathered here. Beastmen, elves, humans, goblins, and many other bizarre races.

Following the numbering, he arrived at a messy intersection.

Beside it was a weapon shop.

Inside hung all kinds of weapons.

A burly kangaroo boss wearing a red headband, a thick gold chain around his neck, and a cigarette in his mouth was wiping down firearms.

If Rowan was here, he would definitely raise an eyebrow in surprise.

Seeing a new customer enter, the kangaroo boss grinned, revealing two rows of gleaming pearly white teeth.
