Chapter 25 - 25-A Groundbreaking Revolution - Multiplayer Mayhem

Day five, he started the mines.

Every single element could be called revolutionary.

"This is gospel!"

This work was practically the bible for dream worlds spanning a thousand years.

At this moment, he seemed to transform into a scholar, analyzing every detail, every mechanic of Stardew Valley frame by frame.

Time flew past rapidly, but he paid it no mind.

He had a feeling, from this moment on, Lunaria was about to see a paradigm shift.

A century-defining revolution was about to arrive.

He no longer cared about his work being better.

He felt his work wasn't even worthy of comparison.

That's right!

Even though Stardew Valley could only be considered a rookie designer's work...

He had to admit, this work's creator was an absolute genius among geniuses.

Too long. The Moon Elves, as followers of the Moon Goddess, hadn't been among the strongest for over ten thousand years.

The Moon Goddess's power could be said to be the weakest among the gods.

Why?

The Moon Elves' small population was one reason.

The dream world's inability to spread widely was the main reason.

Even among the Moon Elves themselves, not everyone liked entering the Dreamscape.

It was optional; it didn't improve strength, it couldn't produce tangible profits, and it even affected normal sleep.

The current empire had long entered an extremely bloated era.

Resources were scarce, the population base was too large, and every elf citizen had to work hard just to support themselves and their families.

Under these circumstances, the dream world became a merely optional form of entertainment.

However, today!

Kane seemed to see a glimmer of a different change.

A tiny spark that might start a wildfire.

"Hey, looking for a Stardew Valley squad, quick, quick, we need one more..."

"Anyone wanna play together?"

"Any kind souls wanna carry me? I'm a girl, room's already set up, please help me out!"

"Damn girl, I'll carry you, I'm amazing at fishing!"

"Girl, don't listen to him! I crush it in the mines, I'll carry you easily!"

The Dreamscape main world was exceptionally lively today.

Because players discovered Stardew Valley actually had multiplayer!

You just needed to connect several people's dreams, and inside Stardew Valley, you could farm and mine together.

This thrilled some people.

Those who liked playing quietly alone just played solo peacefully.

Those who liked crowds and excitement immediately called up friends to party up.

Those without friends, or whose friends were unavailable, just ran straight to the Dreamscape to recruit people.

"Rowan, is this your farm?"

Potter had been grinding Stardew Valley for two days now.

But he spent all day either chopping trees or mining, having a blast.

Today, he had a sudden idea and wanted to play co-op with his buddy.

After begging and pleading, he finally made it to Rowan's save file.

At this moment, a multiplayer cabin appeared beside Rowan's farm.

Potter immediately turned into a curious explorer, wandering everywhere.

Mainly because though they'd both bought the game at the same time, their progress was worlds apart.

"What's this fenced building for?"

"That's a coop. Don't open the fence gate, or the chickens will run out."

Rowan looked at this buddy he'd grown up with, completely speechless.

"What's that metal device in the middle of your crops? Why doesn't my field have that?"

Potter felt like the two of them were playing completely different games.

Why could he only chop trees, mine, farm, and fish on his farm?

But his buddy's place looked way more impressive than his messy farm, with tons of stuff he didn't recognize.

"That's a sprinkler. After reaching Farming Level 2, you can craft it in the crafting menu. Put it in the field, and it automatically waters crops."

"Of course, if you've got money, you can also buy one from Clint!"

"Huh! It's in the crafting menu? You can buy it? And it auto-waters? I thought those were just decorations!"

"You have no idea, I plant such a huge field every day, watering it manually would kill me."

Potter was shocked, feeling like he'd been playing for nothing.

This had never appeared in games before, so he'd been totally confused playing.

Actually, Rowan didn't fully understand many things either.

But he was a more meticulous person.

So on day one, he'd carefully read through all the tutorials and descriptions.

"We're good buddies, right Rowan?"

Rowan looked at his buddy, whose words clearly hid ulterior motives, adjusting his glasses.

"Teach me!"

Potter looked at him with puppy-dog eyes, starting to act pathetic.

"Get lost, I'm not into guys! But if you really want me to teach you... It's not impossible."

He pushed up his glasses, revealing a sinister smile. He finally got himself a chance for free labor; naturally, he couldn't let that chance slip away.

"Look, my farm still has tons of overgrown areas to clear. We're buddies, so you wouldn't refuse to help me in exchange, right?"

"Just watch me go!"

Potter instantly started, running full throttle into the messy trees, swinging his hammer left and axe right, working enthusiastically.

With his own free laborer, Rowan immediately felt his progress would speed up considerably.

He'd now reached day 14 of year one, and had already harvested crops two or three times.

During this time, he'd unlocked the Community Center bundles.

Only then did he discover the game had a main storyline.

Seemed like as long as he could collect these bundle items, he'd unlock some new maps and features.

Right now, he'd only completed one from the Spring Foraging Bundle.

But he couldn't help it. He hadn't even discovered most of the items needed yet.

Only the Spring Foraging Bundle's four foraged items were easy to complete.

Whenever he had free time, he'd wander around, picking up stuff all over the map. He'd already had them before the Community Center unlocked.

Now with a helper, he could ignore the farm.

He could confidently explore outside.

Yesterday on the calendar, he'd seen an Egg Festival, but after searching forever, didn't know where it was.

After asking Pelican Town residents, he learned it was held in the Desert.

Unfortunately, the town's only bus was broken and not repaired yet.

So he couldn't go now. He guessed this was probably related to the Community Center's Junimo bundle quests.

The early game's three major income sources are farming, fishing, and mining.

Farming yielded the least profit, but bundle quests needed it, so he couldn't stop. He also didn't know if there would be extremely profitable crops in the late game.

Now with a helper, he could focus on mining and fishing for money.

Mainly because he really hadn't discovered better money-making methods yet.

Mining yielded various ores and gems. Ores could craft items and upgrade tools.

Gems could be donated to the Museum for rewards.

Fishing was a bit difficult. All water bodies could be fished, just the species caught would differ.

He'd previously fished a small river for a day, and only sold stuff for 500+ cropper coins in total.
