From there, the individual reports began.
The participants in this meeting—the executives—were the heads of each department.
The regular meeting was held once a year at the end of March, where they reported on the past year's achievements and performance.
The main topics covered the movements of affiliated adventurers, financial inflows and outflows for each department, sales figures from the sales division, and progress on weapons, armor, and magical tools developed exclusively by the clan.
Just listening to this meeting gave me a solid grasp of the clan's current state.
Being able to attend was a huge advantage.
Finally, it was Selma-san's turn to report.
"Then, from the Exploration Department: Our highest reached floor in the Great Labyrinth remains the 92nd. As everyone knows, no new adventurer joined the First Unit this term, so we limited the First Unit's exploration to the bare minimum and focused on training the next generation."
I'd known since my Hero Party days that the First Unit hadn't done much deep-floor exploration this past year after losing their absolute ace.
Losing Albert-san—who had been called the undisputed pillar of the party, both in strength and morale—had clearly hit them hard.
"As a result, two parties from the Second Unit have reached the 87th floor. Deep-floor access is now within sight."
The atmosphere had started heavy, but hearing about the Second Unit's progress seemed to lighten the mood.
"In addition—as mentioned in the Exploration Management Department's report earlier—material collection volumes in the mid- and lower layers are trending upward. Overall, the abilities of adventurers affiliated with *Silver Rabbit of the Night Sky* are improving across the board."
I'd already known this from information gathered during my Hero Party days.
The level of *Silver Rabbit*'s adventurers had definitely risen over the past year.
It might only be a matter of time before a fourth S-rank party emerged from this clan.
"Additionally, we recently conducted a new initiative: the guided expedition. Several A-rank and higher adventurers, including myself, accompanied the trainees into the Great Labyrinth. Everyone successfully reached the 50th floor."
Oh, right.
Because of the forced return right after I defeated the black dragon, the newcomers never made it to the 51st floor.
Well, it couldn't be helped. Surviving an incident like that was already a win—asking for more would be greedy.
I hoped the sponsors would be satisfied with these results...
"Of course, we won't immediately send newcomers into the mid-layers, but the experience of consecutive long-duration labyrinth dives should bear fruit in the near future."
That was certain.
They'd spent three full days—from morning till night—inside the Great Labyrinth.
Mentally, they'd grown tremendously.
The newcomers' movements during the expedition hadn't been bad either.
The clan's emphasis on education came through loud and clear.
"Finally, regarding next term's plans: With Orun joining us, the First Unit now has a full roster. We will resume deep-floor conquests. We'll also encourage other explorers to advance at a reasonable pace, aiming to establish a stable supply of high-quality magic stones and materials."
After Selma-san finished, a few other executives asked questions, but she handled them smoothly.
Once her report concluded,
"It's been one year since I took over as leader. The fact that we've rebuilt the clan to this point is thanks to every member here—including all of you. I'm grateful. Please continue to support us going forward. That concludes today's meeting."
The leader gave the closing remarks, and the regular meeting came to an end.
◇
The executives began filing out one by one.
I'd planned to greet each of them personally, but they all looked busy, so I held off.
I'd have to make proper introductions soon.
"All right, let's go too."
"—Ah! Selma-cchi, wait~!"
Just as Selma-san called out to leave, a woman's voice stopped her.
...Selma-san sure gets called by a lot of nicknames.
Looking toward the voice, I saw a short-haired woman with light brown hair. Early twenties, maybe. One of the younger executives, like Selma-san.
(Though I probably shouldn't be the one saying that...)
She was from the Exploration Management Department, I think.
During the meeting, she'd reported on party evaluations, magic stone and material collection volumes—likely the department that supported the adventurers.
"Selma-cchi, got a sec? I need to talk to the newbie real quick."
Hm? Not Selma-san—me?
"Sure, no problem."
"Thanks♪ Work's piling up for me too, so I'll get straight to it. Newbie—are you good at teaching your knowledge and skills to others?"
"If it's something I know, I can teach it. Why?"
"As expected from the Dawn's Multi-Talent!"
...What does that even mean?
She wants me to teach her something?
"Um..."
"Estella, you're confusing him."
Her name was Estella-san, apparently.
I should memorize the executives' names quickly.
They'd only referred to departments during reports—no names.
"Ah, sorry sorry! So, basically—I want you to be the instructor for the new rookie party."
Instructor? I thought newcomer training fell under Exploration Management.
Plus, I had deep-floor exploration coming up.
I wasn't sure I'd have the time, so agreeing casually felt risky...
"I'd like to ask as well. Would you be willing to take it on?"
To my surprise, Selma-san herself was requesting—practically endorsing—it.
But what about deep-floor exploration?
"Uh... If I'm going to train newcomers, I'd need a decent chunk of consecutive time. Do I have that kind of availability?"
"Hm? Oh, right. The Hero Party dived into the Great Labyrinth almost every day, didn't they? Here, each party sets its own schedule freely, but we prohibit four consecutive days of diving. My party doesn't have much scheduled after tomorrow, and we generally avoid back-to-back dives anyway. Compared to your Hero Party days, you'll have a lot more free time."
I see.
I'd noticed *Silver Rabbit* didn't dive as frequently.
Selma-san had administrative duties as an executive too.
I'd probably end up helping with that, so no more daily deep dives like before.
"In that case, I'll take the job."
"Really?! Thank you~! Those kids have insane talent—I wanted to get them into the Exploration Department ASAP! Plus, it was their strong wish too, so I'm super happy you said yes!"
Wait... does that mean...
"Anyway, we'll sort out the details later! Byeee!"
Before I knew it, Estella-san had vanished.
What a whirlwind of a person...
I was wondering if the Exploration Management folks got dragged around by her all the time when Selma-san chimed in with, "She's actually really capable, even if she seems like that."
Well, yeah—otherwise she wouldn't be an executive at her age.
