Chapter 18: Towards the Red Cave and the Shadow of Death
The color of the sky changed to a deep, misty red. Rina felt afraid.
"Kaka Diari..."
"Rina, look at me, don't be afraid. What was our goal? I know you won't give up. We came to seek our goals. We must win; they must not triumph over us."
Rina's fear faded a little. She replied, "Yes, Kaka Diari, definitely. We must win. I know we will win and reach our goals. Now is not the time for talking, let's go to the cave."
Diari and Rina slowly approached the cave. When they both reached the entrance, a very foul and strange smell was coming from inside. A terrifying sound echoed through the cave. Rina looked at Diari and said, "From here on, there is no turning back. Either we all get saved, or from here on, we become shadows. Diari, we must be saved."
A Key to the Past
Before going inside, he found a sword. Inside it, several strange names were written, along with the names of Rina, Rina's mother, and Rina's father. The names were very strange; only witches could read them.
"Rina... Kaka Diari, this is very strange. My family's names are in it. I feel a strangeness within my soul. A feeling tells me I will face a very bad misfortune that only concerns me. I fear this strange feeling will come true."
"Rina, stay calm, be composed."
Rina moved forward bit by bit. She took out an old piece of paper from the spot where Liva had fallen. The paper had a strange mark on it in the shape of a winged horse. It had a red color with a red map drawn on it.
"Rina, this is just a paper, this is a trap. But it is the only way for us to reach your father. My mother mentioned this place in her will. This is the heart of one of Liva's mother's spells."
"Yes, Kaka Diari, I understand now. But what could be the secret of this sword? Even your mother didn't know. We must investigate this sword as well. Keep the sword safe; it is a trust with you. I trust you, Kaka Diari. Let's go."
A Journey Full of Obstacles
As they stepped into the cave, the stone walls began to move. They were about to collapse on them, as if the cave were alive, wanting to swallow them. Suddenly, the sky started changing color to a deep red. A wind was blowing, cold and misty; it was as if it were the end of the world, it was that strange.
Rina and Kaka Diari felt their minds were being disturbed. But Rina immediately began reciting Ayat al-Kursi. With every word Rina read, the sky slowly returned to normal, and a white light formed around them. Slowly, the spells were being destroyed. Diari, with the sword in his hand, was cutting through the magical barriers that blocked their path. The sword started changing its color to a maroon-black. The sword had so much power that Kaka Diari's hand was very badly injured. Rina quickly took the sword from Kaka Diari's hand and put it behind her back.
"Kaka Diari..."
"Rina, it's nothing, let's continue."
Rina insisted on stopping the bleeding. Rina tore half of her own clothes and bandaged Kaka Diari's hand.
"Come on, let's go, Kaka Diari."
Seeing Rina's Father
After a long passage, they reached a large hall. There, they saw a man bound by a hot, red chain. The man was Rina's father. His appearance was just like the photo in Rina's hand. Kaka Diari looked into Rina's eyes and saw how courageous and determined she was.
"Rina soul, it is your father. We will save him. Please stay calm, okay? I will do everything for you, I would even give my life for you, just be okay."
"Kaka Diari... my father!"
Rina shouted, "Father! My soul, Father!"
But when the man raised his head, Rina was shocked. Her father's eyes had turned white; the light of his eyes had been taken away.
Rina said in shock, "What? Why are your eyes like this, Father? What... what happened? What occurred?"
Rina's father said with a shiver, "Go away, you devils! What do you want from me? Leave me alone!"
He didn't even recognize his own daughter's voice because the magic had disturbed and occupied his mind.
