Within the next hours, reports about Callum's parents spread across the world.
Russia. America. China. One after another, global powers issued warnings and demands to hand them over.
Bring them to us.
This concerns all of humanity.
But the leader refused every single one of them. His response was cold and final.
"They are under our protection. What are you going to do with them and who are you to threaten me when I know that our world may end in the next week?"
Despite the leader's statement, several secret attempts were still made. Special units. Shadow operations aimed to capture Callum's family.
However, not a single one succeeded. All failed.
With that the order of the world also broke down.
...
As the days passed, the world began to rot at a fast pace. Crime rates spiked overnight. Riots broke out in cities. Looting, arson, murders, things that had once shocked people became daily news.
And the government?
Stayed silent. They no longer cared about these matters at all. Their focus was on the next war, or whatever that angelic being had said. They had even started secret operations, projects for their escape.
However, to their surprise, people discovered the secret projects, which included massive spacecraft designed to abandon Earth entirely.
Escape ships.
When the public learned the truth, rage filled their hearts, and all of them attacked the government sites.
Parliaments, high courts.
Even Airports, Stations.
But when they reached these sites,
all the government officials were missing!
Chaos was everywhere.
And with that the whole week passed like this.
Then came the day which they had started calling The Judgment Day.
The day when humanity would either live…
or disappear forever.
The streets were flooded with people. Men, women, children, their faces tired, desperate, furious and in their hands banners of callum were present.
GO, GO CALLUM
YOU ARE OUR SAVIOR
Their hope clung to a single name. Callum.
While all people were on roads and streets, all missing world leaders, presidents had gathered in one place, in the country holding Callum's family.
They stayed inside a heavily guarded building beside a massive space station, ready for evacuation.
And in a dark chamber nearby was Callum's family, chains bound around their wrists.
His father and mother looked very weak, pale skin and sunken eyes.
It was because they hadn't eaten in days, both were on hunger strike, after they had been arrested.
But surprisingly the younger brother, the same person who had once cursed his elder brother, now wore a strange smile.
Actually, these days he stayed with the leader and had enjoyed the best treatment provided which was his dream life.
He also knew the plans of the leaders and presidents—and because of Callum, he knew exactly how valuable they had become.
...Then..
Exactly at 10:00 a.m.
It happened again.
The eyes of humanity began to glow. Pain shot through every human mind.
And in an instant, the world vanished as they stood in space.
Before them, a vast surface, so enormous it dwarfed the solar system itself stretched endlessly.
Humanity looked like nothing more than dust, scattered across it.
While they were all in surprise, other figures also appeared nearby.
Huh, many humans gasped.
These figures also looked human… but not quite. Different eyes. Different builds. Different characteristics.
"Aliens, are these aliens?
My god, there really are different worlds."
However, before humanity could interact with the aliens, the angel appeared once again, floating in the vast space.
Everyone quieted down.
With a simple gesture, the angel pointed toward the alien side. And instantly, a figure emerged from nothingness. This figure had the same characteristics as the aliens. But the air around him felt heavy.
The moment humanity saw him, fear engulfed them all. The figure also looked at humanity and lifted his weapon, pointing it directly at them.
A clear message.
You are finished.
The angel nodded at this, then turned toward humanity. Where the Space beside them had started twisting like creating a massive wormhole.
Then From it, a figure stepped out, clad in dark armor which was tightly embedded with his body.
As the figure emerged from the wormhole, a dark throne instantly formed behind him, and he quietly sat down on it.
Callum.
Cheers echoed across the void. Cries. Prayers. Desperate hope.
"Look at us."
"Save us."
"Please."
But Callum didn't even glanced and completely ignored them all.
Sitting on the throne, with an emotionless face.
As if none of them mattered.
The angelic being nodded once more.
And without wasting a single second—
"Let the final round begin, hehehee."
Instantly, the other figure made its move and vanished from its position, appearing right behind Callum.
Bang!
The moment the attack landed, the entire battlefield shook violently. The impact was no weaker than a bomb blast.
The figure laughed loudly, its voice echoing across the vast surface.
"Haha! That's it!"
It was certain. No one could survive an attack like that.
But in the very next moment, its instincts screamed.
Without thinking, the figure twisted its body and raised its guard.
Clang!
A sharp impact rang out as two daggers slammed into its defense.
Callum had attacked.
Dark red energy oozed from the blades, thick and heavy, radiating with a chilling pressure that made even the spectators feel uneasy.
The figure's eyes widened in shock.
But it didn't retreat.
Magical energy surged across its body, coating its skin like armor. Symbols flared briefly before it opened its mouth wide.
A torrent of flames burst forth which Callum was unable to dodge.
The intense fire engulfed Callum's body, but he pressed onwards, ignoring the fire, ignoring the pain, he charged straight through and attacked again.
Blades flashed. Shockwaves collided. Fire and dark energy clashed.
The audience watched in total disbelief.
This was far beyond their expectations.
A human, who was supposed to be weak like them, is actually wielding such terrifying supernatural powers, and the other was still standing—still attacking—even after taking such devastating blows.
Time passed as the fight continued.
Until, the outcome became clear.
The alien figure collapsed and its body lay broken, lifeless on the vast surface.
Callum, who was seriously injured, still walked forward, stopping next to the alien's corpse.
And the next moment, dark flames covered the corpse, and slowly the whole body was absorbed by Callum, like a man drinking soup.
Silence.
Right then, a voice echoed across the battlefield breaking the silent situation.
"Hahaha!"
The angelic being laughed, clearly amused.
"Wow. This was truly a great tournament. The result is now clear."
Its gaze turned toward Callum.
"Mr. Callum has won."
"And with that, he has saved his world."
"He has saved his world."
Woossh.
In an instant, the vast battlefield vanished.
The pressure on all of them disappeared, and the consciousness of all humanity was returned.
Vision cleared. Sound rushed in.
Back on Earth—
Cheers erupted across the planet.
"Yeah!" "We won!" " We have survived!"
People hugged strangers. Some laughed. Some cried. Others fell to their knees in relief. Cities lit up with celebration as if the world had already been reborn.
No one cared about what had happened to the other world, or callum.
All that mattered was one thing.
They were alive.
World leaders appeared on screens, congratulating humanity. Flags were raised. Fireworks filled the sky. Emergency broadcasts turned into victory speeches.
Parties began almost immediately.
Inside a grand hall, politicians laughed and drank as if the apocalypse had never come.
Music played loudly. Glasses clinked.
Callum's younger brother was there too.
Smiling. Laughing. Surrounded by beautiful women, arms wrapped around them, enjoying the attention.
For the first time in his life, he felt important.
...….
But far away from this useless enjoyment.
On the shattered battlefield, Callum still stood there.
The surface beneath his feet was cracked and broken, half destroyed by the battle. Fragments of space floated slowly around him.
But he didn't move, he stood there like a puppet attached to strings.
Then—
The angelic being descended, its wings spreading wide as it floated before him.
"Good. Good," the angel said with satisfaction. "You are truly a perfect seed."
Its eyes glowed faintly.
"A suitable candidate for the position of a commander slave."
A smile formed on its face.
"Now you may return to your Earth. Wait for orders like a good puppy."
It paused briefly, then added, "And know this—we are at war with other celestials ."
Callum remained silent, replying only by a nod.
Satisfied, the angel then turned away. Ready to leave this place. And instantly a portal opened beside Callum. which led to the earth.
But—
Slash
A blade flashed behind the back of the angel.
Its eyes widened.
"What, how can you…free?!"
But before the angel could speak its words, the blade split the neck open and the head of Angel fell, floating into the void.
Callum stood behind it, dagger still dripping with faint golden blood.
Without hesitation, he stored the angel's body into his inventory.
Then he stepped through the portal and the next moment—
He appeared beneath the cracked sky of Earth.
Fireworks exploded instantly.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
The sky was filled with light as millions of people screamed his name.
CALLUM!
CALLUM!
OUR SAVIOR!
Posters covered buildings. Screens showed his face. People cried openly as they reached out toward him.
World leaders stood at the center, smiling broadly.
And there— his family was also present.
If it were anyone else, their heart would have swelled with pride and ego in their brains.
But Callum—felt nothing and with his expressionless face he descended smoothly, landing before the leaders. The people and the leaders rushed forward, hands extended, mouths full of praise, already trying to get on a good side.
However, he ignored all of them.
His eyes fixed only on his family behind these selfish people.
His mother met his gaze.
Her eyes filled instantly with tears. She ran forward, sobbing. Even his father's eyes trembled.
But before Callum could reach them—
The leader stepped in front of him.
"Mr. Callum!" he said loudly, smiling. "Allow me to introduce myself—"
Callum looked at this person in black suit, who was talking nonstop.
However, Callum was going to walk past this person too, but he stopped because his attention had already shifted with a message.
The translucent screen appeared before his eyes.
